  1. I hope font family name select box accepts any font family name even if the font is absent. this is not for data sharing. I'm Japanese and one of dreaming Affinity supports vertical text. For now, Affinity don't support the feature, and it's critical for users of CJK fonts. The best scenario is this feature comes in next version, but I suppose this feature won't come in near future(at least until 3.0, I think). Talking about Windows, about fonts that support vertical text style(this means almost all CJK fonts), we can use it by simply adding at sign(@) as prefix. after that, rotating text object by 90 degrees will let me making simple vertical text, but it's impossible because Affinity don't list up at signed fonts. So my suggestion is that applications accept font family names that isn't listed on the select box. as adding hack way for vertical text, not "support" for it. I think It won't fully functional, but better than nothing. I can't imagine how inconvenient this change makes for users, but I suppose it's not so much if the application make alert for non-existing fonts. Sadly, it's nothing worthy for Mac users. I don't know behavior on actual application.(actually I could choose the font with "@" once in AD2 when it went broken, but that was not comfortable). I hope developer team would test it. thank you.
  2. I'm using Affinity Designer 2.0.4 on Windows. I'll report a possibly bug of gradient overlay on layer effects. I'm sorry if someone else has already reported it. How to reproduce: 1. Make a text layer. 2. On the text layer click "Layer Effects" button and turn on "gradient overlay", and set one or some gradient color point's opacity to 0 (or low value). 3. Export Image(Ctrl + Shift + Alt + S) I suppose opacity value of gradient map affects the opacity of text color itself when exporting. I switched hardware acceleration from GTX1050Ti to WARP and issue hasn't changed. Thank you. gradient map issue.afdesign
  3. I agree this suggestion. I use Affinity as my hobby and often make software's icons and images for my website. These images are not needed using vertical-text so much, but for printed matters vertical text is essential. Most Japanese users should be waiting for implementation.
