Agree, it did seem quite the claim but it does seem to fit with my predicament. Could have seen it on Reddit. I'm attempting to find it (not on same desktop though so not as easy)

it saved to the downloads folder (not that I store everything there), which what the message box shows.

Can't find it on any of the recovery programs. Have tried searching by date, file name , all words in file name, afpub... It's looking bleak.

Yes, but clicking gets the message that the file doesn't exist anymore.

The file has disappeared when it saved only to the local drive for a month, so it's not the cloud's doing.

I'll give it a go.
On a laptop until march which conked out. The publisher file seemed to be saving automatically to the onedrive.
Transferred to a desktop from Onedrive and made the error of not assuring it also saved to onedrive from there. It saved to the downloads folder on the local drive.
I have the march file on onedrive, which is about 10% of the lost file. -
Thanks. It was saving to the local drive. Now disappeared, nothing doing when clicked in the 'Open recent'.

Hello all,
A Publisher document's disappeared. Saw somewhere a suggestion that closing without saving when prompted can result in the whole document being deleted, even if it's just been saved.
While this would explain the situation, it's also a bit of a disaster. Worked on it on two computers, the first automatically saved it to cloud, but it appears the second one did not.
Have tried three recovery programs (Recuva....) and no success. -
I'm also having crashes for the first time, and when I say 'having' it's crashing every time I open my main file. It started gradually so i made a copy but both are crashing as soon as opened. Older (much older) files work. Thought it could be a dodgy picture causing it, but have downloaded publisher on a small notebook and the file works fine on that. Copying even bits, never mind the whole thing, onto a dongle and importing it onto the main computer still causes Affinity to crash when I open. Very worrying!
I deleted and redownloaded Affinity but the problem persists, so it should be something to do with the actual computer not the program itself, seeing the file opens on another. New computer then, pronto, unless there's an answer out there.
Update: Sounds mad but it crashes every time I click page 4 on any document! Always page 4 even if it's completely blank.
Update 2: Tried clearing everything with the ctrl click, still crashed, bought another computer. -

Rummaged the file, 'repaired', tried opening but it's not having it.
In hindsight, it probably wasn't the file - it was probably an earlier update file.
I was saving constantly in the beta, always available and opened. -
No, nothing. Could Affinity send me something to enable access back to the beta so I can retrieve?

They were 'Affinity' files with the Affinity logo in My Documents, now they aren't, and don't seem to be anywhere else. I'll try trawling again but it'll be in vain. -
Hi,
On Windows. Having downloaded the new Affinity the files and documents have disappeared completely.All the Beta version updates held them of course. Now when opening up Affinity, and selecting Open or Open Recent there is just nothing there. It's as if the new download either has deleted the files or can't recognise them.

Don't tell me that it's impossible to retrieve files and documents saved on the beta version, as the updates all did until the purchased version?
If so is there any way to get access to the beta?

I have also, of course, done the same searching on the local drive to no avail.
