Resize canvas after crop

I am having the same problem. I simply wanted to put a frame or outline around my image.

No I was not, I was using Serif Affinity. I have now switched to Apple core image raw and the problem has gone away. Many thanks. Mats

I am using a Canon EOS-R camera and decided to fit my EF-s 24 mm lens during a walk. I am photographing in Canon Raw CR3 and the camera has been updated with the latest available firmware 1.8.0. I can without problem edit my shots with Apple Photos, but if I open the photo in Affinity (via the apple extension in Photos), the photo appear circular. I do not have the same happening if I use a Canon EF lens e.g. my 50 mm compact macro lens. What can be done? Mats

I tried it yesterday and as far as I tried it worked. I worked with the following extensions from photos, Develop, retouch and edit in Affinity. I could open, work, save and close. It transfered back to photos and I could save there. I have not tried the other extensions as yet. I do have problems with opening (raw) photos directly from Affinity from the Photos library. I get a message that library is being loaded. Then I get a very short flash of thumbnails, which disappears. After which nothing occurs.

I am getting itchy not be able to use Affinity as I wish. Is there a schedule for fixing the extension and the Catalina issues yet? Perhaps as a Christmas present?

I have tested with Affinity 1.7.3 Develop extension and I do still have the same crash when saving the work.

Affinity 1.7.2 Mac OS 10.14.6 MacBook Air 2018. I really like to use the affinity extension within Photos as it provide useful tools and a very simple workflow. However every time I use the Affinity develop extension it crash when closing. This happens every time I try and always with the same error message "Unable to edit with Affinity Develop, unexpected error occurred". What can I do to get this resolved? MatsF
