jedorme
lilloph3 - I am just starting to use AP for Raw editing & it appears that AP makes some edits or adjustments to the Raw file before you even begin to do so. I too would like to know more about this & if there is a way to turn off this feature in the preferences or elsewhere. Also don't understand why this is being done - seems like regardless of the camera, the Raw file in downloaded in PS, Lightroom or anything else should look the same in AP. Hopefully someone can tell us more about this.
Achim63
As the name says: it's an "interpreter" - the raw picture must be interpreted in some way so you can see something. That's why raw pictures look different in e.g. Lightroom and Capture One, and also in AP.
billtils
Yes, it's as Achim63 says. "RAW" files need interpretation to create a viewable image and the various conversion engines do not produce identical images. You can edit what the conversion program creates (e.g. in the Develop persona in AP) and then further process the rendered image with your editor (e.g. the Photo persona). It's up to you to identify and use the combination of these variables that gives the final image that you like best - there is no absolute right and wrong.
