KevinA999 Posted March 7 Posted March 7 Hi Everyone, first of all I have to say how excited I was when I learned of the existence of this software. I think there are a lot of people who are tired of the way billing and "ownership" works for the normal alternatives. I downloaded the 7 day trial and was having a really great experience working on various photo adjustments like "developing" some RAW images and testing out some HDR merges. I went to draw up what I call a "half a$$ wiring diagram" for a friend, basically wanting to use the computer as a piece of paper to hand sketch scribbly wires in a hurry and was surprised that the paint brush tool had a very significant and varying amount of lag when you click and start moving to draw a line. I started by creating a new document in the standard default presets for an A4 sheet of paper. The computer I have the software on is a top of the line thinkpad from only 2 years ago which has very little installed on it (no bloatware, no weird software hogging resources in the background besides windows) AMD 7840u, 32GB memory, 780m graphics on processor. The screen is 3840x2400. There are obviously more powerful desktops but this computer is not slow by any extent of the imagination. I have long time experience with the ins and outs of "high performance" computers and their associated hardware and couldn't think of anything that could be specifically causing this from the outside. I was trying to scribble some text as if I were writing on paper and found I would have to click and hold for almost a second before I could start moving the mouse. Think of writing a capital E, each line I had to click and wait. It was very odd for how well the rest of the software seems to work. For what it's worth, I tried the closest tool in Designer and found it had a bit less lag but still a delay in the same sort of way. I was ready to buy 2 seats of the set of all 3 programs for my company but now I am wondering if I am going to encounter more lagging things like this. The rest of the UI seemed responsive in my experimenting but this has me worried. Quote
