CaroleA Posted December 19, 2024 Posted December 19, 2024 In using the Flood Select tool, I understand that it does select based on the color. Are there other settings to make the selection based on other modes, like the Opacity, Brightness, or other? I don't know about Photoshop, but I know that PaintShop Pro offers six match modes. Does Affinity Photo only have one? Quote
Latens Posted December 19, 2024 Posted December 19, 2024 There are other select options under Menu>Select> Quote .

Latens Posted December 19, 2024 Posted December 19, 2024 All selection (tools) have their own options and you can switch between them without losing the current selection. I think it always depends on the given situation/image what works best. Quote .

I think it always depends on the given situation/image what works best. But if I use the Select > Alpha Range > Select opaque from one layer, and want to ADD a similar selection from a different layer, I would lose that selection, right? Also, if I have 5 elements on a single layer, but I want to select only 2 of them, based on opacity, how would I do that? On the other hand, if I have one main element on a layer and lots of "unattached" pixels, how would I select only the "main" one, and not the "unattached" sections? I am trying to find a workflow for those things that I would do in 2 clicks with PaintShop Pro so I can convert some tutorials/classes to AP. Quote
