Matte Painting

Hello everyone,

My name is Ahmed, and I’m a freelance event and editorial photographer as well as a retouching and digital artist. After exploring Affinity Photo and learning about its one-time purchase model unlike Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom’s subscription plans—I decided to make the switch and dive into mastering this software.

Having used Photoshop for years, I’m glad to see that Affinity Photo shares many similarities with it. However, I’m currently facing some challenges, particularly with creating matte paintings. Some of the tools and controls I rely on in Photoshop seem difficult to locate or might not exist in Affinity Photo.

I’d greatly appreciate any advice or guidance on how to approach matte painting in Affinity Photo. If anyone has tips, resources, or tutorials they could share, it would be a huge help.
