grunnvms Posted May 9, 2023 Posted May 9, 2023 A descreen filter is missing in Affinity, and sometimes you need such a filter. If you have experience with using other filters, then it may be possible to use a combination of those filters to descreen a picture. I lack that experience, and I just wanted a proper descreen filter. Descreen filters in scanner software just seem to blur the image. There is such a filter for Photoshop, and it also works with Affinity (V1 and V2). You can find the full description of the filter here: http://www.descreen.net/eng/soft/descreen/descreen.htm It's available for Windows and Mac, and there are two versions, the professional version also has moiré reduction and noise reduction to be used after the descreen operation. Demo versions are available as well, these are fully functional, but limited to an image size of 2000 x 2000 pixels. Installing is very simple, create a subdirectory in the Photoshop Plugin directory, and copy the four files there. Pricing is € 15 for the home edition and € 75 for the professional edition, both prices excl. VAT. You will deal with a German (not Russian) company when ordering. For the U.S. the prices are $ 16.50 and $ 80 , ordering is done with Paypro U.S. I'm mentioning this, because I read some comments of panicking Americans who were afraid that this filter may compromise the security of their PC. I see no reason to assume this, the software is not registered over the internet, you get a key that you have to enter yourself. I'm quite happy with this filter so far. Quote
