Features for PDF/UA

Recommended Posts

I personally had to switch back from the Affinity suite to Adobe products because there is no way to make accessible PDFs with Publisher. Even a few features to lay the groundwork for PDF/UA compatibility would help. Like tagging graphic elements with descriptions or as artefacts. Like tagging text styles and exporting them with the PDF so that a screen reader would have a basic concept of the documents hierarchy.

Government regulations are implemented all over Europe at the moment concerning accessible PDF content. And the field is wide open, because the tools in Indesign and Acrobat Pro are really, really bad and make you jump through hoops on end. But at least with them you can get it done eventually.
