There is a fatal flaw in the design for Symbols. There currently is no way to recover edited symbols from an older version of a file by pasting them over to a new file. This means that symbols that were edited with the syncing button turned off, are copied in as the regular version of the symbol. Steps to reproduce Create an ellipse and turn it into a pie Convert this ellipse into a symbol Save the file Create a copy of the file from step 3 Place another symbol in the file Disable symbol syncing Change the angles of the pie for the symbol in step 5 (and optionally scale the symbol down for recognisability) Copy the edited symbol and paste it into the original file (which didn't have the edited symbol). Notice how the symbol is brought in and disregards any changes to it 2023-01-11 16-41-21.mp4
Having spent a lot of time customising the interface and keyboard shortcuts for Affinity Photo and Designer, I don't want to redo all this work in Publisher. Instead, I would love to see Publisher synchronise the settings from both apps (this should be a checkbox within the keyboard shortcut interface so people can opt not to), thus loading in studio presets and keyboard shortcuts. Synchronising keyboard shortcuts and the like also circumvents discrepancies between the apps where, if I modify a few hotkeys, I have to take into account that this also needs to be changed the other app.
I mainly use my iMac due to it´s screen and power. But I´ve also got a MacBook which I use to take with me (that was surprising right? :D ) when I go to friends etc. So my brushes or color palettes and workplace settings, view options...every option is configured on my iMac. (at least the options I know about) But it´s nasty to do the same importing etc with both Apps on the MacBook. So I would like ti have simple export option for all stuff that is configured compared to the stock download. If there is a folder somewhere which I could copy I would be totally fine with that as well. This would be also useful if one has a bug and want´s to check whether it´s because of some settings of his own. Then he could export all the settings, reset the App to default and if the bug persists the resources could be imported back into the App.
