I used AI to create a vector image, but when i import it into affinity I see hairline white gaps between each shape, which are also apparent when then saving it as a png or jpg. The gaps don't seem to be there in AI, so is it an export issue with AI or something with affinity thats doing it? Tried exporting from AI as both svg and pdf. Cheers!

When converting to EPS I will often get a white background that can not be cleared on many elements. Text is the most problematic. This is causing issues as I need to be able to convert my file for an AI end user, and all editable conversions have inadequate outcomes. I have attached the AD files for you to look at and one example of the poor output. Buff Circ New Logo- Black 4.0.afdesign White buafflo new.afdesign

SELECT SIMILAR & DXF EXPORT
DanBrizol posted a topic in Feedback for Affinity Designer V1 on Desktop
If Affinity Designer is going to truly compete with Adobe Illustrator it MUST include the VERY BASIC but ESSENTIAL functions: SELECT SIMILAR and DXF EXPORT. I still cannot believe this program does not have these features. SSSSoooooooooo many of your customers have requested it, why are you ignoring them!??? Writing the code for these features will be child's play for you surely!!!???? TIME TO GET SERIOUS AFFINITY - include these features and then clean up, it's a WIN-WIN!- 3 replies

I have used Adobe AI for a long time for technical manuals and manufacturing documentation. I recently went looking for a replacement which was not subscription based and found Affinity Designer and within 4 hours was loving it! For me Affinity provides a better user experience and is more efficient. I am a big fan now! Going to test out the photo app next. Great job at Affinity!

Really liking what i'm seeing coming out of Serif. Affinity Designer interests me a lot but the sticking point in me switching for me is the inability to export AI files back out as AI files. Many customers of mine need the ability to work on edited AI files. Many will want to do the basics but hand it back to me if they need extensive alts. Obviously, Serif's creation of AD is to attract Ai users away from Adobe and give everyone an alternative, good on'em too. But the addition of "Export" or "Save as AI" could be added in a future update your user numbers would increase beyond belief. jk
