  1. I am using a MacBook Air, OSX 10.14.4 and tried to change my English Beta Trial version to a German one. I went to Affinity homepage, selected a new download with "German Flag" - hoping to get the "German" version, installed this download, overwrote the existing version, and after opening, it was the English version again. So I tried to reset the parameter ram (three times), deinistalled completely the existing version with "CleanMyMac" (deinstall function), loaded again the "German" version from AffinityHomepage, installed it once more and after opening, it was the English one again.... What I have downloaded was # 1.7.0.293
  2. I am using a MacBook Air 13", Mid 2013, 1,7 Ghz I/ processor, 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3 and I am sorry to report, I am getting massive problems of stability with AffinityPublisher. (one of those reports was 196 pages) The last Bug report, that caused an inability for shutting down the program in a normal way, was attached by two bug reports, I offer for clearing here to the software designers. And I would very much like to see a final version soon, that is working without that problems. Best regards, and a good new year! 3. Dear Walt, Thank You for contacting me. Indeed this was my first idea too. Because it seems to be the most practical solution, well known also from the Mac standard program "Pages". But the problem I see is with the "highlighting" of text in AffinityPublisher in general and it is likely to have others too, not just me....(see the thread https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/71901-text-highlight/) It results above all from the fact (but not only) that you can't "highlight" anything on a dark grey background well, because you can't see any result of it. This is a problem in principle that will hopefully change when Affinity is out of beta. Indeed alternatively, one could switch to the "light" mode in the view, to get better results of this issue. But my second question is: which tool should be used to "highlight"? Usually with the text cursor. But if you are in textframe mode, and want to use the cursor that appears there for this purpose, then this does not work (at least for me).
  4. I have not yet found a solution to the following layout problem at Affinity Publisher. First, I have a two-column layout. But "Overview" should not be part of the "Body" layout, but a heading. Logically, this has a different paragraph layout. How do I teach the Affinity Publisher? 2. it would be good if you could select "Heading" within the column layout and assign a different paragraph style to this selection. But this is not possible in Affinity Publisher (like with Pages). Theoretischerweiae - and this is also explained in the explanation videos" - you draw up a new (own) text frame (for headings) and define this frame (paragraph) then as "title". (It was also not possible to create tables of contents in any other way). 4. but what if the title is within a continuous text block whose paragraph format is "body"? 5. deleting the following pages behind it doesn't help either, because how do you get rid of the remaining body text below "Overview"? 6. you can apparently also not create a "title frame" within a continuous body text frame (which would be very useful). Do you have a solution to this editorial problem? LG,
