  1. Thanks for the two relevant responses. Unfortunately I'm not an IT professional and my skills are not up to conducting such an esoteric diagnosis. As you say, firstdefence, I shouldn't have to, particularly given that this problem does not occur with any other software. The obvious solution is to cut my losses with Affinity, uninstall it, and get another, more stable, photo editing package.
  2. What do you mean by "You didn't even answer dev in the original thread". Who is dev? Is that DWright? If so, I did respond to the question regarding the specs of my pc, in fact you have quoted my reply. Having provided those specs (the next day), I got no further response - that's the reason for the new thread. Rather than arguing about the process for posting, it would be great if someone could actually offer some help.
  3. The freezes I reported in a previous post have continued to occur. My pc is an Intel NUC with an i7 processor, 16 GB of RAM. According to the Intel system scanning app, all my drivers are up to date. Today I tried a focus merge for the first time. With a merge of 5x20 MPixel images, it crashes every time. As with other Affinity crashes, the pc locks up completely - mouse cursor won't move, no response to keyboard. The only solution I can find is a hard restart (ie push and hold the power button). No other software that I have does this (and when I had Lightroom, that didn't do it either). It appears that Affinity Photo is effectively useless to me.
  4. OK. My cpu is a Core i7 - 7567 @3.50 GHz. I have 16 GB of RAM. This lock up issue really does only happen when I'm running Affinity Photo. Thanks.
  5. I know there are other posts about freezing but the symptoms on my computer seem to be different. At what seems to be random intervals, Affinity Photo causes a complete freeze of my Windows 10 Intel NUC. This can be while I'm editing a raw file, or as tonight, when I have Affinity Photo open and click on a raw file to open it. I'm using Panasonic and Olympus raw files. When I say freeze, I mean the computer is completely non responsive - mouse cursor won't move with either wireless or usb mouse, keyboard has no effect. The only remedy I can find is a hard shutdown and re-start. The NUC has all the latest drivers (according to the Intel app that checks this). This only happens when I have Affinity Photo open - but sometimes I can go a week or more, with regular use of Affinity Photo, without it happening. I can't see a pattern to it at all.
  6. Disappointing that nearly a year after the Pana G9 was released, it's not fully supported and there is apparently no guarantee that it will be included in the next update at some unknown time in the future.
  7. I have the same problem. I'm using a pc and Serif Labs is the only raw engine available. Is the Panasonic G9 ever going to be supported? It's now 10 months since the G9 was released.
