Never mind. I did not import my pictures properly. I just got a new MAC and getting used to it. I learned that I had to open the application called Image Capture to import my pictures. It was not doing this automatically. Good thing I have the book "teach yourself visually Macos Sierra"

When I open a raw file in affinity it is shown as a .tiff even in develop persona. Is it actually opened as a raw or is it converted to a .tiff when it is brought into affinity?
