it is possible to set an object rotated by 35 degrees, for example, to zero. A simple example: I rotate a rectangle by 35 degrees. Now I want to make a text frame out of it and I don't want the font to be skewed. So now I would have to say you are not rotated, the way you are standing is zero degrees.

My Feedback: THANK YOU
md_germany replied to md_germany's topic in Feedback for the Affinity V2 Suite of Products

Dear Affinity Team, At the beginning I was a bit disappointed by Affinity Suite 2.0, as everyone expected the implementation of their personal wishes. The changeover was not entirely smooth either, I had to make some presettings by hand and my workspace had completely disappeared. But: I created the first brochure and other things in versions 2.0 on the Mac and am thrilled by many functions, some of which are not documented at all. So a big THANK YOU for the great work and the good price. Keep it up!

Too bad, I was looking forward to v2. But a simple change from v1 is unfortunately not possible. The workspace is no longer correct, presets are lost and why you can not save as v1, for the emergency even if then some functions are lost, is also not to understand. I hope that still some does and I can then but soon switch to v2. Until then, everything remains the same.

Hello, I have always worked (since Quark) in „Float View to Window” and have the Context Toolbar below. That works fine in 1.… But in version 2 the application framework always remains and the Toolbar and Context Toolbar always stick on top. Furthermore Studio Presets cannot be taken over from version 1. i hope i can work like this again soon

Of course, it is not so good that a spot color can only be recreated but not converted from a CMYK. Also not good - and this is a real bug - is that the name for a newly created spot color can be changed, but the PDF output always takes the first used name of the spot color.

Export GIF with transparent background and gradient
md_germany replied to md_germany's topic in V1 Bugs found on macOS
Sorry, but I was waiting for this answer. For me, it is important that a software programme works. This means that if GIF is offered, a perfect GIF must also be produced. If it is not offered because there are better solutions, then it is something else. My decision for GIF results from the difference in size. PNG 430 KB, GIF 286 KB. For internet applications, I actually always prefer the documents with a small amount of data, but I always like to take tips from professionals. -
Here is the original publisher file. From this the created PDF and finally the view in Photo. In this case it concerns the Calibri font (Mac OS X 11.5). Test_Bitte.afpub Bitte3A.pdf Bitte3A.afphoto

Ah, thank you very much, that works. „Schriftuntergruppen” muss deaktiviert werden.

A pdf was opened from publisher in Photo are displayed destroyed. Not so nice. („Bitte” and „bitte”)

Placing an emoji as text and then converting it to paths will definitely crash the program for me. Maybe an error message would be better at this point.

The problem is that I get a PDF file from someone and I have to place it in my document. If I don't have the fonts used, either the colour is wrong or the font is wrong. It would be nice if there were some improvements here. https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/137608-colours-are-not-correct-with-pdf-setting-transferpassthrough/&tab=comments#comment-758709

I always embed the full font in the PDF. I have worked with Quark and ID and I think this is something that better not happen. I need to be able to rely on a PDF being perfectly printable everywhere. With complex documents you may not recognise such errors.

Thank you for your quick response and sorry for the somewhat inaccurate description, but I think there is a mistake here. I have a text „1234” with „Ziffernbreite” = „Proportional”, in this example with the font „Akko”, then I make a PDF place that with the option in german „Interpretieren” in an other document.

Thank you very much. That was just an example. It should not happen that the display in publisher deviates from the pdf result. in extensive documents such errors could easily be overlooked and lead to problems in the print run.

Zooom tool minus jumps the document

Many will work with a trackpad - like me - and there it doesn't make it noticeable. -
This EPS-File from the official site from Volkswagen crashes my Designer 1.8.3 and Photo 1.8.3 immediately. AI has no problems with this. eps-Beklebungsvorlagen-Caddy-LR-DE-MJ-2016.eps
