Hey guys, Does anyone know if Photoshop 2017 can open svg text as editable text? I really hate Photoshop, I really love Affinity, but I still need some way to provide psd files to some of my clients. So I noticed that if I export text as SVG from Affinity, I can keep it as text, and if I inspect it in any browser, I will get the exact info of the font ( font family, size, color, weight, style, line heights, everything). Can I import such a SVG containing text into Photoshop 2017 and see it as editable text in Photoshop? Did anyone try this? I would pay like an idiot for a Photoshop license monthly just for that, and that will make me hate Photoshop even more

@toltec Yes I agree, I am also fascinated about time travel and quantum mechanics, but this is an app that can easily be manipulated, not the laws of physics Maybe it's just me, but from my perspective, selecting an object should not be subject to Undo/Redo. Great tip about the Snapshots though, had no idea about it @R C-R Yeah, I also use the History panel, but like I said, maybe it's my personal preference It would be great if that would become an option, that way everyone would be happy

Hi guys, Is it just me, or is the Undo-Redo a bit glitchy? And I think that the problem is that selecting an object (clicking on it) counts for Undos or Redos. For example. 1. I make 10 changes 2. I undo 10 times, and then accidentally click on the screen (basically deselecting any selected objects) 3. There's no way to redo the 10 steps, not even from the History panel, which gets reset to the point where you clicked on the canvas and deselected everything. This is extremely annoying, should selecting an object really matter for Undos Redos? Even if it would, would that be more important than accidentally losing your work progress based on a minor mistake? Cheers, Chris

Ctrl -> to view distances: how to disable?
chris.bannu replied to chris.bannu's topic in Older Feedback & Suggestion Posts
yup, me too but if they do, it would be great to make this an option, it feels very intrusive, but it's also very useful sometimes. -
got it, thanks Alfred Out of curiosity, all the awesome people that answer all my questions, are they support people, or awesome community members?

Oh, ok:) So if I purchase Affinity Photo, will I have a separate app? Or will Designer and Photo merge into a single app?

I re-tested this again, and it behaves the same. So it's probably a bug if it's not a feature. Not that I mind, I like this bug -
Hi guys, Is there a way to fit an object to the canvas dimensions, without using snapping or using the width/height input fields? Like a simple option "fit to canvas width or height"? Thanks, Chris

Ctrl -> to view distances: how to disable?
chris.bannu replied to chris.bannu's topic in Older Feedback & Suggestion Posts
Hi MEB, Actually I did found ways to disable it. 1. Fixed pixel alignment = disabled, that will make distances appear when using Ctrl. 2. If Force pixel alignment is enabled, also enabling the Snap will make the distances appear when using Ctrl. Killing any of the above will make it disappear I'm not sure if a feature request is necessary. Cheers, Chris -
Hi guys, There's an option to hold ctrl and see the distance between an object and other objects, with the first object selected. Can I disable this option? I use it, it's very useful, but not always, and it's sometimes annoying to press Ctrl for something else and see lots and lots of arrow/lines and distances, it's distracting. Thank you, Chris

Hi guys, How do I copy a pixel selection? In Fireworks you simply draw a shape with the marquee tool, hit Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V, and the pixel selection is copied. How can I do this in Affinity? The help file doesn't seem to explain this. Thanks

Hi R C-R, thank you for replying The buttons could have different widths, they don't have to be the same width, only the padding would differ (e.g. 15px left, 15px right, depending on the width of the text). But Alfred gave me the solution, double clicking on the left/right handles does the trick, and it resizes the frame to the text width. I really need to read the help file to learn these tips, even though I absolutely detest reading What do you mean by child layer btw? Are you referring to grouping them in a group or ion a layer group?
