  1. Hello, I followed an example of cutting out and pasting. I did the same. With the paint brush (Black&White) and the mask I optimized it. Then Edit Copy and Paste. The new layer is shown but the layer itself shows only a cutout and not the copy of the background selection. Why? I don't get it. By the way I saved the selection as a spare channel but in the channels I don't know how to activate it. To a file went well, but what is than the difference? Is there not a PDF Tutorial for step by step learning. Videos are nice but step by step reading is better in learning to do it ourselves, I think. All the best for the new year.
  2. Hello, I bought recently Affinity Photo and got quite frustrated about the bugs I ran into. Opening four or more (small) jpgs the first file was not opened after 6 minutes. So I did force quit. Opening one by one is ok. Hope it will be solved soon. (Mac Mid 2011, SSD 10.13.2) Than I made my first macro. added a new layer, named it black. changed the canvas to screen size, filled with black. choose the background and copied it. Choose layer black and pasted the copy. Command E twice to make it the new background. Save > as flattened and close. Stopped the macro and saved it in the library. I open a new file to use the macro on. And the result is that it uses the former picture and not this one. In Photoshop this was not a problem at all. Can't I do this in AP? Next question is, how can I remove it from the library? I don't see how. Can you help me with this? By the way all the best wishes for the year to come
  3. Thanks Owenr I did not reed well and was still thinking Illustrator.
  4. Well, I found the answer myself. I did not do what the book says. Thanks to an example on Youtube I added a note with the node tool, did break the line and moved the parts aside and continued with the pen tool. So one frustration less.
  5. Hello, I am new at Designer and have the Workbook. On page 97 I try to add nodes to the pen line. But as soon as I click the pen on the line a new layer is created. So I cannot make a separate part to drag it up as said in the book. I have an iMac with system 10.12.6. with an Intuos 3 from Wacom. What is am I doing wrong? Than: clicking three times at the plectrum page 99 using Smart Mode I hover over the first point and click but the line does not close. I tried about 6 times and then it worked. Are these bugs? This is not fun learning Designer and forgetting Illustrator. Hope to hear and best regards to you all. Herbert
