Thanks for the speedy replies. In that case should I stick with keeping the library in iphoto or photos? I shoot in raw mainly and worry that photos can't store that format?

I've just downloaded a trial version of affinity. can i use this to replace iphoto or do i need to keep the latter for storage? I never switched to Photos as didn't like it but worried if the software disappears what to do with my picture library.
