  1. Hi, I am using Affinity Designer. I want to create around 200 namecards with different name and other personal data printed on it. I have created the base template for the namecards and I also already had the names and data of the people that will be printed to that namecards. Is there any way to automatically fetch the personal data from other source like Excel into Affinity Designer? So my namecards would be automatically filled with the prepared data. Thanks for your help
  2. How did you do that? I've just installed Wine 4 and didn't even manage to install it at the first place
  3. Thanks for your replies guys. I am going to try your solutions
  4. Hi, I was Inkscape user. I used to create shortcut for DELETE action to "D" key because while working I wanted my right hand only focus on my mouse and pressing Delete key using my left hand felt so efficient. Mac version has option to map DELETE action but you can't find it in Windows version. I am using Windows 10. Here's all what showed up in my AD's shortcut menu under Draw -> Edit category I hope Serif will make shortcut options in Windows version the same as in Mac version
  5. Hi, I was Inkscape user. I used to create shortcut for DELETE action to "D" key because while working I wanted my right hand only focus on my mouse and pressing Delete key using my left hand felt so efficient. Is it possible to create shortcut for DELETE action in AD? I have searched for DELETE action to be replaced in AD's shortcut menu but I didn't find it. Maybe I missed it or is it impossible? Thanks for your answer
  6. Yeah, maybe it's best to inform the guys to be included in beta release.

  9. Today I got client from Middle East. I have to use Inkscape just to write Arabic RTL phrase then import it from there. If Affinity Designer is meant for professional use, please don't make it half baked.
  10. Sure, any dropbox link I can use to upload the file?
  11. Hello, I read from the official site that from now on Fotolia submission is done through Adobe Stock. The problem is Adobe Stock require the minimum size of EPS file is 5,000px x 3,000px (15 million pixels). We know that EPS file produced by AD does not retain the dimensions of the artboard when saved down to EPS. My best practise is always keep my artboard size 400px x 400px as mentioned in this thread. But by limiting the artboard to 400px x 400px it means that Adobe Stock would reject it. I have already experienced it. Anyone got workaround to come across this "issue"? Thanks in advance
  12. Hello, Wouldn't it be easier if we could rotate an object using trackpad gesture?. Current implemented feature is rotating view using trackpad gesture. So, to rotate object it could be like; click the object we wanted to rotate, then hold shift and do the rotation gesture accordingly. In addition, you could do the same with object resizing with zoom gesture. Background issue: sometime it's little "annoying" pointing the cursor to the right spot to get rotation control on. To sum up, we all know that Mac's magic trackpad is one thing that make it standout from other hardware interfaces available on the market. And every Mac's user loves it. So why we wouldn't take it to its true potential? Thanks, Regards
  13. Hello, I use Affinity Designer 1.5.5. I was creating a seamless pattern. But what irritating was there were tiny gaps between my pattern tiles. I arranged them using snapping. It also happened if I arranged it manually by incrementing the X or Y of the tiles. I attached the pattern that I am talking about. How can I get rid of this issue? And one other thing. Every time I create a perfect square artboard let's say 400px X 400px, and I start drawing on it. Once I export this particular artboard, the size in export menu can't be perfect square anymore like 400px X 400px. There must be one pixel or two more added mysteriously like 402px X 400px. Even if I just draw a really small thing in the middle of this artboard. The artboard would never be perfect square again. Is that normal?

Small gaps between object/pattern tiles when snapping

I did covering the whole artboard using the rectangle with the same colour as the foregound (brown, in this case). But the seams is still there. To make sure it was my pattern itself which caused the problem, I exported to .svg and did the tile arrangement in Inkscape. Then I exported it as .png. I can confirm that my pattern was just okay as the exported result from Inkscape doesn't have this hairline. Yea I have read Matt's reply. And with my workaround I think it's just fine. I don't see any semi-transparency pixel. I did check it with maximal zooming using OSX's Preview and Gimp.

Small gaps between object/pattern tiles when snapping

Hi MEB, thanks a lot. I really appreciate your effort to keep this forum responsive and alive Regarding your solution for the first issue (The seams between object), I have tried it both. Maintain the X, Y position & widht/height in integer values. Still the seams are there. And placing a background object with a similar colour/luminosity as the foreground object didn't work either. What worked for me is, 1. Make the artboard background transparent, then.... 2. Select the objects I want to export and export them with the area: "selection with background" The above workaround only works if the objects don't have any other object beneath it And for the second issue, it's solved by following your steps. Please solve this seams/gaps/hairline issue in the next update. It's really crucial for professional use.
