  1. Application: Affinity Designer Version: 2.2.1 Happens on any document. Hardware acceleration is enabled. Device: Intel Macbook 13" 2020 (Using external 4k Monitor) Issue: When you reopen Affinity Designer when it was previously fullscreen, the app opens in windowed mode and half of the application header is underneath the Mac's menu bar. Making it near-impossible to drag the application around and access the app's close and resize window options. Reproducable steps: 1. Set Affinity Designer to fullscreen 2. Save current document 3. Quit AD using cmd+Q 4. Reopen AD, notice it's not fullscreen and the top of the application is cut off behind the Mac menu bar
  2. Oh wow I didn't even know that was a MacOS setting! Thank you that fixed it! 😁
  3. Affinity Designer: 1.9.3 MacOS Big Sur: 11.5.1 Intel Macbook Pro 2020 Model Loading and saving files directly from my desktop and Dropbox folders, located on my internal HDD.
  4. As the title states, if you open a file in Affinity Designer on Mac, make some edits, save the file and close the file. Go into the menu and click on 'Open Recent', that recently closed file will not be there. No recent files will be listed there.
  5. Hey Sean, Sure thing. I've attached a file that shows this. Try and copy the stroke from the object on the left and paste it's style to the square on the right. You will notice the stroke will only become purple, rather than a gradient. Cheers. stroke-bug.afdesign
  6. Hi there, I noticed an odd bug on the latest version of AD for Windows. If you have a shape (or pen shape) which has a gradient stroke and you copy it and the paste the style on another shape (ctrl + alt + v), it will copy over the stroke gradient. But if you then click the colour swap (so the stroke and fill properties switch values) then the shape will be filled as one of the colours, rather than a gradient. Cheers.
  7. Hey Walt, thanks for the tip! Why do I need to adjust my Decimal Place for Unit Types from 1 for pixels? Shouldn't the transform tool just show the real dimension values? This would surely make sense for default app settings. I've also updated the .afdesign file with numbered artboards if needed for future use.
  8. Hey Walt, thanks for your quick response. Please see the screenshot, I've selected the bottom left artboard which has dimensions: (781 x 271) When I go to export it, the width updates to: (782 x 271). Also where are you seeing these non-integer widths? In my program none of them have decimal places. Cheers
  9. Hi there, I reported the following bug back in 2017 and I still come across this issue weekly Bug: (Designer) In the single export dialog, the dimensions are trying to save my selected artboard with 1 extra px in width and height. It's not respecting the size of the artboard I was able to recreate this issue easily by having more than 1 artboard in my new project then simply trying to export one of those artboards. Here's a screenshot: https://www.dropbox.com/s/j1feusqulethklu/2020-01-06 10_57_54-Window.png?dl=0 Here's the sample file you can open to see the issue: https://www.dropbox.com/s/t70v49r1w065pvl/designer-bug.afdesign?dl=0 Please let me know if you need any more information from me, but it's pretty easy to replicate by having more than 1 artboard on the latest version of AF Designer for Windows. Thanks, Luke.
  10. Thank you but I was seeing if there was an alternative approach, as I'm needing to see the live updated results in Designer when editing in Photo.
  11. Hi there, I'm wondering if it's possible to have 2 files: 1 file saved as .afdesign 1 file saved as .afphoto I want to then be able to add the .afphoto file in to my .afdesign and edit the .afphoto in Photo. Is it possible for those changes made in Photo to then appear in Designer in real time? This would be an amazing alternative to switching back and forth between programs (especially when tracing). Thanks!
  12. Hey Sean, thanks for addressing this. When I first witnessed the artboards issue it was on a new file using that version. I've recreated the issue on my other PC with the same version and you can see the issue by alt-dragging an artboard, then renaming the duplicate in the layers panel. Then go to the export options and you'll notice the new artboard name isn't there. Let me know if you require any more information. Cheers!
  13. Hey there! I just updated to the latest beta of AD (1.6.0.83) and I've noticed 2 issues: Cant export new artboards unless I save and reopen the file (it won't pick up the artboard names in the export screen) On some occurrances I noticed that the layer thumbnails weren't updating (my images were not rotated anymore but the layer thumbs showed them still rotated) The artboard one is a bit of a deal breaker for me at the moment, as I use the tool heavily to quick mockups which require a lot of assorted artboards in the document. Anyways I appreciate all the work and effort that goes in to each update, thanks!
  14. Thanks for letting me know. It's a bit of a relief to know I don't have to separate layers in to separate artboards then. Do you know if there's any way to determine the slices in the Draw Persona? I find the slice selection a bit odd to use as it doesnt support snapping to layers.
  15. Hi there, I'm new to the forums but I've been a huuuge fan of Designer and Photo for a few months now. :) The other day I had to design an email banner which was sliced in to 2 images which aligned up perfectly. I made the new banner image using 2 artboards that would then easily export as 2 slices, the issue is they both require the same photo background underneath and text that overlaps both artboards. When I made this in the Draw Persona it appeared perfectly, though when exporting in the Export Persona, it would not export the top and bottom layers that are outside of the artboards themselves. Is there any way I can export these 2 artboard slices whilst keeping the bottom background layer (below the artboards) and the top text layer (above the artboards)? Thanks! :D
