  1. In Photoshop I can move, resize, etc. a masked layer without moving the mask itself, if I deselect the chain icon in the layers panel. A similar solution for Photo would be great. I know I can move, resize etc. the mask itself. But not the object it is masking.
  2. Yes, Shift+F5 isn't too bad, but to me the purpose of shortcuts is to minimize clicking as much as possible. Would be nice to have these additional shortcuts (don't remove SHIFT+F5 though) :)
  3. That works, I guess. But selecting those objects twice is kind of counter-intuitive, isn't it? That's also why I created a suggestion for switching to an alternative tool with a modifier key while using tools such as the Corner Tool.
  4. Oh, I apologize for creating this thread then. And thanks, Reglico.
  5. Reglico, thanks for the reply, but you've misunderstood what I said. Aammppaa got it right.
  6. For me it is. Can't speak for anyone else, but I've been using it for years and I love it. I build lots of shapes for UI and in the long run I can get more work done in less amount of time with this tool. It's mostly just one click and drag, as oppossed to clicking Divide, deselecting, clicking Add, etc. Yes, in theory it's not much of a time saver. But in my workflow it certainly is.
  7. Simultaneously change (or implement) corner radius (or type) for multiple selected objects.
  8. I used to align objects with keyboard quite a lot in Illustrator. Select an object, press and hold CTRL + ARROW key on the keyboard to duplicate and shift the duplicated object by 1px in the desired direction. Or CTRL + SHIFT + ARROW key to shift it 10px. Just like I can duplicate an object with CTRL + DRAGGING LMB, but a bit more precise with keyboard. Yes, I know I can CTRL+J and then move the duplicated object with the arrow keys, so I don't see this as something that needs to be implemented right away. It'd be nice though ;)
  9. I actually miss the Shape Builder tool as well. It saves a ton of time when I want to merge some parts of intersecting objects and discard others. As shown in the attached image - it's easy to select the parts I want to merge with one stroke (as shown by the red line) while the bottom part of the circle is seperated.
  10. When I create an object (say a rectangle with the Rectangle tool), I get this handy Corner menu in the top bar where I can select the type of corner and its radius. However, the radius value is always displayed in % units there. I'd prefer if this was displayed in units that I specify in the Document Setup panel (i.e. Pixels, Millimeters, Percentange, etc.). Similarly to how the Corner Tool displays the value for the radius.
  11. I hope you can implement the option to drag opposite handles of a node simultaneously when using the Node tool and holding a modifier key. Example: (1) Convert an ellipse to curves, (2) Select the bottom node of the object with the Node tool, (3) Press and hold a modifier key (CTRL?) and drag one of the handles left or right, and the opposite handle of the same node will move an equal amount in the opposite direction.
  12. Like Photoshop - fill the whole layer (or just a selection) with foreground or background color. [ ALT + BACKSPACE/DEL ] shortcut.
  13. I apologize for the late reply, must have missed your response. Yes, it is reproducible, just checked again.
  14. Ah I see. Well that works, though I'd prefer a regular LMB+CTRL for this. Especially if it causes problems with some laptop touchpads. By the way, while trying out your method I've encounter a bug -- my selection was quite random and irregular, and as I kept adding to it, some of my previously selected areas were eventually getting lost. Sometimes even at opposite sides of where I was adding. Have you experienced this before?
  15. Wow, it was dumb of me not to check the good old "CTRL+V" before posting. Usually, in Illustrator and other apps I've used, simply copying an object and pasting it would misplace it. Therefore, I got used to reaching for the "Paste in place" function and couldn't find it in Designer. Sorry to bother and thank you all for responding.
  16. Hi, is there a PASTE IN PLACE functionality in Affinity Designer? Seriously can't find it. I often used this in Illustrator where I could copy and paste anything in the same spot. Kinda like what DUPLICATE does, but simply duplicating is not ideal in certain situations (e.g. when u want to duplicate a shape that's also a layer mask, but u don't want the mask).
  17. Sorry, but RMB-dragging does nothing for me (also while holding CTRL). Better than nothing, yea, which is what I'm using at the moment, but far from convenient. Thanks though.
  18. Currently you have to go to Document Settings (Designer) or use the View Tool (Photo) to change the units from pixels to mm, etc. It'd be much easier, if we could simply right-click the ruler and select the desired units.
  19. (1) Please add the ability to add to current selection with a modifier key (e.g. CTRL) -- even if the "New" mode is selected for the marquee tool (since it's already possible to subtract with the ALT key in the New mode). (2) I'm trying to subtract something from my selection while holding the ALT key. Even though it's possible, as stated before, I can't precisely pinpoint the area I want to select, because the "dragging" cursor is display when the mouse pointer hovers on top of the selection and obstructs the view. (3) Ability to toggle XY coordinates displayed in currently used units (i.e. pixels, mm, cm, etc.) next to the cursor while using the tool. EDIT: (4) AFTER selecting an area with the Marquee tool, display the dimensions (Width x Height) of the selection in the Info box. Just as they're already displayed WHILE making a selecting (dimensions disappear upon releasing the mouse button).
  20. I love Affinity Photo, but I just can't get used to not having some basic functionality I'm used to from Photoshop. (1) Using a modifier key to toggle Hide/Show all other layers (except for the one I'm clicking). This is especially useful if I want to quickly A/B the before and afer. (2) Click and drag/slide up and down the check boxes in order to quickly Hide/Show multiple layers.
  21. While using the Straighten tool, I have no problems with select the starting point - I can see where I'm clicking within the little crosshair. However, selecting the end point while dragging the straightening ruler is a bit harder, since there's a circle/node within the crosshair which obstructs the view and limits precision. Would be much easier without that node (or make it a single pixel dot?)
  22. Use a modifier key while dragging one of the handles to proportionally move the opposite handle of the crop overlay, just like in Photoshop. Similarly to how scaling objects works in Affinity Designer, where you press and hold CTRL to scale the object in opposite directions, or CTRL+SHIFT to scale the whole object proportionally. Also, holding just SHIFT to make cropping more precise is currently not an option either.
