  1. I have posted previously with no joy but Photo v69 is crashing on even the most innocuous of tasks. I cannot do an HDR Merge with Tone map checked as it will shutdown my PC. I am having to work around the program to get it to do the fundamentals. I currently have an 4.5mb image open and Task Manager is showing it as consuming 600mb of ram with no processes being undertaken. At one point I had Task Manager open when I ran an HDR merge and it indicated that photo.exe was consuming 2.9gb of memory. I have just tested my image and applied the Tone Map persona and watched Task Manager creep up to 2.8gb before my PC crashed and rebooted itself.....This cannot be right and needs to be resolved.
  2. I am simply trying to merge three JPEG files, all under 4mb but I have exported them at reduced quality so each are 1.5mb and still the same issue. On the adjustments I am simply applying curves/level adjustments to the master channel.....I have just come back from a day out with my camera and tried to do a HDR merge on both my PC's and they both black screen and need a reboot to continue, this only happens with AF Photo and no other program, infact my second PC is used to analyse vast datasets using Crystal Reports, notorious for its memory usage, yet it never crashes until I try to merge 3 small files in AF Photo.....
  3. AF Photo is continually crashing and has been for some time, have filled out Crash Reports (when it lets me, it usually says the report is unavailable). I have replicated what I am trying to achieve in Photoplus, Cyberlink Photodirector, Adobe, Photopad etc etc...... no problems. The issue has therefore rendered the AF software as unusable and I am frustrated at filling out endless crash reports with my e-mail address and getting no response. When AF Photo does crash it renders the PC in a state of not responding, I can neither screen dump to get an image of the issue, ctrl-alt-delete for task manager or even close the program; the end result is having to do a hard reset. I have tried to upload a sample of the files I am using; all under 4mb; but ironically I am getting 'Upload skipped (error500)......................................
  4. I have reset, re-installed,checked my memory, loaded onto a clean pc running Win 10 (the operating system my machines run) and still Photo crashes with levels or curves adjustments and HDR is a complete no no.... Google Affinity photo crashing or not responding and the number of hits is worrying, really need to get this sorted
  5. Hi, I have been away so just got around to this reply. Photo continues to crash and with HDR merge now it reboots my PC. My PC spec is:- 2.90 gigahertz Intel Pentium G645 128 kilobyte primary memory cache 512 kilobyte secondary memory cache 3072 kilobyte tertiary memory cache 64-bit ready Multi-core (2 total) Not hyper-threaded Board: PEGATRON CORPORATION 2ADC 1.05 Serial Number: CZC2442LKV Bus Clock: 100 megahertz UEFI: AMI 8.09 09/17/2012 1497.89 Gigabytes Usable Hard Drive Capacity 738.70 Gigabytes Hard Drive Free Space hp DVDRAM GT50N [Optical drive] Hitachi HDS721050CLA660 [Hard drive] (500.11 GB) -- drive 0, s/n JP1572FR05SXGK, rev JP2OA41A, SMART Status: Healthy WD Elements 1042 USB Device [Hard drive] (1000.19 GB) -- drive 1, s/n WXP1EA2HDU98 3960 Megabytes Usable Installed Memory Slot 'ChannelA-DIMM0' is Empty Slot 'ChannelB-DIMM0' has 4096 MB (serial number EA882C4E) I have located Crash Reports but appears to be empty. I have also downloaded Photo Beta on another PC to test and this one crashes on HDR merge and reboots the PC everytime I try the process. I have run Check Disk, Memory Check, Virus Scan etc but to no avail. I have had to revert yo Photoplus to do my work. 6. Affinity photo is constantly crashing when trying to do Levels adjustment and Curves, it returns a Unhandled Exception, Code 080004003. I have wracked my brain and cannot think of any changes to my PC that could be causing this, anyone have any ideas?
  7. One of the key things to understand first is 'Saving As' and producing a afphoto file, this allows you to edit the photo in a non destructive way as your original image remains untouched. Then follow the advice as above; personally I watched the tutorials, swallowed my pride, and started with the Beginners Tutorial and soon realised I did not know it all! The Layers tutorial is a real key to using Affinity Photo; once you understand this and the principles of child and nested layers a whole new world opens up. James Ritson's delivery in the tutorials is clear, measured and extremely informative and I make a point of watching a tutorial on a daily basis.
