Hi, i would like to create a t-shirt mock-up (template where you can put logos on top and change color of shirt). Example: Ass you can see the guy didn't took a photo of each coloured shirt, he just made one photo and coloured the shirt afterwards with software. My questions: 1) So i take a photo of a shirt - which colour is the best for the template? White? 2) How do i colour the shirt? 3) How do i put the existing shadows on top of the coloured shirt? Many thanks!

Hi Hans, masking does use the non-white curves and leads to this strange result: And it's still not really subtracted so the (t-shirt) printer can't use it. But my main problem is: It's not possible to Geo->Add objects with different colors right? So have to GEO->ADD objects of the same color and "distress" them manually?

Great, this is really *the* solution! Many many thanks! Send me your address and i'll send you some beer! Is there a way to save and "import" such objects? Or do i have to create my own collection (in every layer a different texture vector layer saved in an single .afdesign-file) and drag them into another window with the letters? -

Ok this exports non-rastered as PDF... but it's still not "glued" together: So how can i cut out the white lines out of the curved letters? diss.afdesign -

But what is the difference between an imported vector texture AND a "converted to curves"-image? Where do i "perfom a substact op"? What worked for me is: 1) Vectorize an texture to 2 colors, only export the white color (lines) and the black ones are transparent 2) Put this .svg-file on top of the curved letters. 3). Export as PDF (no rasterizing) -

Really? I don't want to draw the lines by hand! There must be an other solution. Can't believe that AD is that limited... -

Yeah but i don't want a new printer I just want to export a PDF as usual. Also the logo(s) will be used for stickers etc. so i need it there as PDF too. -
Hi, maybe you have read my other post regarding the distressed logo. My printer only guarantees lines and details down to 0.7 mm in size (narrower lines and smaller details may still be visible). Is there a way to easily check if all elements are "thick" enough? I saw such a tool on an other design tool... moving over the lines showed the "thickness" in pixels/cm/inch. Thanks, NBG

My printer only accepts PDFs with curved elements. I'm fine with that because it doesn't lead to any mistakes etc. So is it really so hard to cut it out? -

Hi toltec, yes this works also but there is still an image in top of the curved letters. Is there no way to *real* cut out the "erasing bits" out of the letters? What about not-rasterizing the image but converting it to curves and the "merge" it with the letters to make a real cut out? Not just an temp effect on top of the letters? Thanks, NBG -
Hi, i made a logo with that common "distressed" style: What it i did already: 1) Converted text to curves (grouped) 2) Put that distressed bitmap on top (rasterized) 3) Set the mixing of the source to zero Ok looks nice so far... but this image must be screen printed (everthing converted to curves and deliverd as PDF file). So how can i "cut of" the (now) white spaces out of the letters? So the printer should not get the curved letters and a image on top, he should get only the curved (distressed) letters. Any ideas? Maybe masks? Thanks! NBG diss.afdesign

Need 2 outlines for a text
NBG replied to NBG's topic in Pre-V2 Archive of Affinity on Desktop Questions (macOS and Windows)
Hi MikeW, i'm sure AD is good enough to solve this job. What i need is to create a logo and use it as a "template logo" (so i can later change the colour of the chars/outlines). Let's take these 2 t-shirts for example: Black shirt: Grey chars, black (transparent) spacing, white outline -> the printing house uses only pantone grey + white. White shirt: Red chars, white (transparent) spacing, black outline -> the printing house uses only pantone red + black. So it would be nice to put the logos on a transparent background and make the spacings also transparent. Of course the printing house don't care if the spacings are not transparent... So in the end i just need the following options: - the colour of the chars must be editable - the colour and thickness of the spacing must be changeable - the colour and thickness of the outline must be changeable - the original text must not be editable anymore (so can be transformed to curves or be grouped) In your example i can't set the colour of the chars or the outline?! :( Also the thickness of the spacing is always equal to the outline. -

@MikeW: This is great! Didn't know that i can change the settings of each effect with the gear symbol. And a last question (this time it's allowed to convert the text to curves/grouping, not further editing of the single chars necessary): How can create a text like above and add two outlines which i can edit later (colour/transparency AND thickness of each outline, also the colour of the text)? -

Hi armadillo, yes this works... but how to make the first outline transparent for example? -
Hi, i would like to create a logo like the well-known one from "Everlast": I tried with an eclipse and text to path: As you can see it doesn't look like the original and i'm not sure if it's even possivle to recreate the in this way. Maybe create TWO eclipes, overlay them, do an invert or something? Do i really just need a shape like the Everlast-logo? Or does the "text to path" only apply on the bottom line of a shape and not also on top? Thanks! NBG
