    AP - Orion

Hi all, I'm quite new to this whole photography thing... I'm really interested in nighttime photography, experimenting with different exposure lengths etc. and I had a go at shooting star constellations, in this case Orion. I just want some honest (not too honest!) feedback about the photo. it's a single shot, so appreciate there is a lot of noise in it. On AP, I played around with the exposure levels, temperature, contrast. Thank you Soul
  2. Hi JFisher, Thanks for your reply. I'm running version 1.5.1. The crash occurs when I just click 'New Batch Job...' in the File menu. Soul
  3. Hi there, I'm trying to use the "Batch Job" function. When I tap on "New Batch Job..." Affinity Photo shuts down. I've tried closing down the program, restarting my mac and uninstalling and reinstalling the app but the problem still exists. What can I do to fix the problem? Thanks Soul
  4. OK, Thanks Leigh. I will look forward to hearing from you. Soul
  5. Hi Leigh and MJSfoto1956, Thank you both for your replies and sorry for the delay. Here's a Dropbox link: https://www.dropbox.com/s/v6ta7zcwgnxazj4/cassiopeia%20composite%20%2810%20Photos%29-sky.tif?dl=0 Hope it works! Soul
  6. Hi All, I'm new to astrophotography and to Affinity Photo. I'm currently using the 10day trial but so far have been impressed by the software. I am experimenting with stacking multiple photos. I am using the Starry Landscape Stacker which seems to only use .tif files. I need to convert my RAW exposures to .tif before I can upload them to the program. The output file is also .tif. The output image is beautifully stacked - the stars are pinpoint and any noise largely reduced. My problem is this: I would like to upload the output image to Affinity Photo, but when I open it the image appears scrambled and off colour, a complete mess really. When I open it in Photoshop, it is as I expect it and also when i open it in Quick View on Finder. The problem seems to be with Affinity Photo? As I am new to this type of photography and to Affinity Photo I would like to check if there is something I am doing incorrectly. I explored trying to save the final image in Starry Landscape Stacker in a different format, but it seems that it only saves it as a .tif. Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated. Or is there another free stacking app I could use? I attach screenshots of what the same image comes out in Photoshop and in Affinity Photo. Thanks Very Much Soul
