  1. Hello All, I have a question regarding the merge down function. When I click the 'merge' button the resulting image loses the sharpness as set on the live layer - my question is, Should the merged photo be identical to the image when adjustments are completed in the live layer because in my case it definitely is not? Any assistance or guidance would be most appreciated. Thanks More detail as follows: I've been using affinity photo for a few weeks now. I'm starting to get some useful results and I have a simple question regarding the use of live filter layers. I've used both the unsharp mask filter and high pass filters. When making adjustments on the live layers I can get some very impressive sharpening of my images. Once I have adjusted the settings on the live filter layer and select merge down, I have noticed that the resulting image has reduced sharpness and in fact results in a less than perfect image.
