  1. Is it possible to apply an occluded render effect/filter to an image? Thinking of how an architect might find this very useful.
  2. I'm wondering if there is a toolset to efficiently create a loupe effect or, if it's easier, the workflow on how to create a loupé effect in AD? Any assistance or help would be generously appreciated. Lawrence
  3. Hi Garry, Callum My mistake on this one. Yes, the Grid Axis Manager and even worse, I had the wrong app! Man that's embarrassing.... 😊 Your reply, not knowing anything other than the title was insightful. As an aside, I was using Apple Motion and using their glyph tool to manipulate text. When you click on a letter, it places a grid over it and allows parameters to be changed to the default grid or a user defined version. But it's Apples and Oranges, so no worries. Damn I feel dumb! 😁
  4. Title says it all. Seen it in Illustrator but wondering if there is anything similar in Designer, please?
  5. I'd like to offer some advice If it helps, going forward, and before I do, please understand that feedback is a gift. I would ask you to draw up a list of your needs, your wants, your wherewithal, what are you looking to achieve, where you are going to place 'it' and how you wish to achieve that goal. Otherwise, be it Photoshop, Affinity, a car or many other things in life, you'll find yourself telling others how there are many veterans in your country and that you've written a review warning them against purchasing something because it didn't behave in the way you wanted it to. The trick is to analyze the heck out of something. In which case, you spent $50USD, maybe and it didn't 'work' for you. Luckily this is not a game of life or death, so I would simply write off the purchase in next year's tax. I also imagine that writing to vets, who have suffered and survived enough, a) doesn't hold any water and b) I've had worse in far off places and just because Affinity Photo/Designer/Publisher doesn't do "X", just yet, I can live with. Everyone I have had the chance to chat with or write with, here, has been nothing but helpful, accommodating and yes, professional. That's a rare gem these days and you can see that in the replies other users have left. Now, is Affinity for everyone? No. Is their documentation brilliant - not really (no offense) but then again, which company's is? As soon as you release a product, your help is out of date and that is the reason you turn to your peers to ask, as I have, the most ridiculous questions because, we've ALL been there at some point in our lives. It's OK @Cody88 Am I now a professional graphic artist? No I'm not, but I just need Affinity to do certain things and asking questions has led me quickly to the answers I need. I'm sorry to see that you have so much vitriol. I'd ask you to relax. Life is a journey and becoming upset over software isn't worth it. Lawrence
  6. BRILLIANT! thank you all - back to wire framing. Love the community, love the solutions and it all helps to love my work. Regards
  7. I know this is my mode of thinking and probably not AD, but was making a wireframe and was grouping arrows. absolutely fine Then put that group inside another group and *POOF* it went away - visibly. So I'm wondering if there's something I'm missing and would love to learn what and how, please? I'm including the file with this post. Many thanks and I'm ready to go red with embarrassment! 8. I have an instance where when I triple click on a heading style, it does not highlight in the normal way - blue - but it is highlighted. My apologies if this is common sense, but am I missing something? Is there a setting I've not 'set'? Bld 1.7.0.145
  9. Chris, I do apologize. For what it's worth, the latest version does not replicate the problem I was experiencing before. However, I'm not sure it may have been something in the image file to begin with. I'll attach it to this posting.
  10. Sure will. Apologies, I’ve been on a well deserved vacation last week.
  11. Wim, What kind of graphic are you talking about? : The graphic is a simple line drawing with fill of a paper aeroplane. Was it something you created in Publisher itself? It was originally created in illustrator. What kind of file is it? It's a PNG Complex graphic? No, simple line drawing of paper aeroplane. I placed the image in the file via File>place after highlighting it and copying it from a spread. Regards, Lawrence
  12. Right clicked and copied graphic on a spread, then double clicked the Master to insert using right-click "paste" and BOOM. Recovery file was a nice catch all, mucho thanks. Version number 1.7.0.128 MBP 2018 running 10.13.6
  13. Moved publisher file to server and then opened, I received a dialogue asking if I wanted to relink my image files as they were currently missing. Clicking yes, I get a dialogue where I can scroll through to the folder/images. selecting the folder caused the system to freeze. After restart, selecting the image files also caused the system to freeze necessitating a restart. I'm working on a MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2018) - so lots of grunt power. What could I have being doing wrong? I've since trashed the project and when I have some free time, I'll try and reproduce it and record the screen for everyone who needs a cure for insomnia.
  14. I have a model with extremely wispy hair and am trying to select it all (or as much as looks natural). Can anyone pose a way of accomplishing this for me, please? Lawrence
  15. Kappa, I found this to be the case, too. As long as it works and continues to get better, I can live with this WAD.
  16. Finishing off the latest project

  17. Can anyone help shed some light on what I may or may not be doing right please? I recreated an interstate sign and exported it to the FCPX Psd setting. When I imported it to FCPX I'm seeing terrible artifacting (see attached). Any critique would be useful and any questions answered. Many thanks, Lawrence
  18. Downloaded the RC and banged out a multi layered PSD to the Final Cut Pro X setting and all I can say is "Thank Heavens!" Great Job, full control on the layers and now I can really start spending CC money on getting a new MacPro! Thank you. Lawrence  Pro Certified
  19. I can see iPhoto (God rest it's soul) but I can't see my Aperture (does that have a soul?) I tried to post the image but jpegs aren't allowed apparently....
