When duplicating an artboard, it should be positioned on the side, not on top of the original artboard. Can you fix it or there is a turn around?

I´m having a big trouble with brazilian Portuguese special characters like: â, á ã, é, ê and so on. It shows like: ~a or ^e. But if I type really fast it wil show: ~ã or ^ê, There is some way to avoid it or fix it? Hope you can help.
