Thanks Walt, it's not working that way for me. I work with many files open at the same time, and if I have one open while opening a new file, the settings on the panels instantly change. I keep getting panels opened, somehow, that I never use. It gets kind of annoying.

Is it possible to select a default set of panels in the Right Studio when new documents are opened? I often use the same panels and it would be helpful to not have to rearrange them for each new document.

Chilly7, I'm with you. I'm often called upon to create vectors from signatures, and I thought I was going to be able to say goodby to Illustrator. I guess not.

Hello, new to Affinity. I have no idea where any reference documentation is available for this application. I click on Help in the Mac toolbar, and get (0) results. Frustrating.
