  1. I have a client that needs to understand how to apply various effects such as metallics to text and objects in an EXTREMELY SIMPLE manner. She was used to PC programs that with two clicks applied the effects to the selected object. She does not want to have to jump through 5-6 steps do do this. Basically it's select the object, select the desired effect, and then apply it. Is there a tutorial showing this process for any of the Affinity products-Photo or Designer in particular? The key is SIMPLE. I understand that various effects you can purchase for Photoshop can be imported and used in Affinity products, so that is good.
  2. A friend wants to switch from an old PC to a new iMac and she is running an old version of AutoFX Dreamscape Ultimate. She has the suite, but only uses Ultimate. Can whatever filters she has there-PC version-be imported into Affinity Photo for Mac? Or does the fact that the filters are PC make them incompatible? If she had the Mac version would the filters be compatible? She needs a lot of metallics, so I'm not sure what is built-in to Affinity Photo that can substitute. Can anyone point me in the direction of how to apply metallics to objects in photos-a tutorial perhaps?
  3. OK, I could use a little help with Davidlower's instructions. I downloaded a simple black and white line drawing from Shutterstock which is an eps. Opened it in Affinity Photo (newly downloaded so I haven't used the program yet) and clicked on filters > colours > erase white paper. The Assistant popup told me it rasterized the layers (since it wasn't). Then I chose file > edit in designer and it opened in Designer, but the white was still there. Is the issue the eps file format? Did I need to do something else because of that? Update: I exported the eps to jpg and then opened in AF and followed the instructions. THAT worked!
  4. In Affinity Designer is there a color dropper? I use SIP to create palettes and I want to add these colors to the AD swatch panel - how do I do that? If I use an external source such as Kuler, how can I quickly get a color from a web page or external source into Affinity Designer?
  5. I am completely new to AD, can you give me a bit more info on the process/workflow to do this? For example say I download 750 SVG wireframe files, what is the procedure for getting them into a Symbols library that I can add to?
  6. Is it possible to import wireframe symbols to create and build a library in Affinity Designer that you can then drag onto your document and work with? There are many sources of free wireframe icons for example that would be nice to import into AD and customize. If this is not possible, perhaps add it as a feature?
  7. I'm glad I found this thread because I couldn't find them either! As an absolute newbie to AD, is there an explanation of the difference between the brushes found in the Draw Persona and the Pixel Persona? Why are some brushes considered raster if they are an .abr file and get put into a different inspector? I had purchased a set of brushes from a designer (obviously intended for PhotoShop) and this was my first time importing them into AD. I just would like a better understanding.
