@carl123 @NotMyFault @Alfred Guys… I’m sharing a video—not a link—so there’s no need to search online for a code that likely doesn’t have an official website. As I mentioned, this isn’t a downloadable app; it’s an open-source code that you can use or reference to build your own. I found this on GitHub, and if any of you are developers, you might benefit from the published code there. Trying to Google it or expecting a professional website for something not meant for mass use is like discovering fertile soil for farmers, only to have thousands trample it the next day—ruining its potential. The original post was simply a feature recommendation, yet the main focus seems to be whether it can be found on Google. A bit ironic, don’t you think?

I recently came across MagicQuill (this is not an app; it is a code you can add through API), which is an open-source and free tool, and I believe it could be a perfect addition for the Affinity developers to integrate into Photo, especially now that they're enhancing the software with AI capabilities for productivity purposes. Unlike many AI photography tools that focus on generating images, MagicQuill allows developers to adjust the code, providing us with the ability to refine and edit images rather than produce random visuals that aren't aligned with our needs. My goal is to restore photos, fix specific areas, and even remove elements from a scene for layout purposes, which MagicQuill seems uniquely suited for. MagicQuill.mp4

Thank you. 🙏🏼 you found the problem and the solution! You’re a genius. Thanks @Old Bruce for your help as well.

Exactly. The issue only happens in one specific project. I tried to replicate it elsewhere, but couldn’t. Something is preventing me from isolating the item. I ended up copying everything into a new document, which let me move on with my work. Still, I’d like to know if this is a glitch or something that can be identified and fixed. Like in your example, I do select a single item and have the “selection only” option enabled. But something keeps it from exporting that item alone. My theory is that the object beneath it isn’t being fully deselected, and the export command is picking it up too. Maybe it’s a bug.

When you open the artboard layer, you'll find a group inside. Some layers within that group are deselected. This raises a question: Can a deselected item affect the export selection of the layer you intend to export? Thanks in advance.

The fact that you want to continue this conversation shows how passionate you are about user preferences. If you don't trust a link, you don't click on it. That's reasonable. Various services like Dropbox, MS OneDrive, Cloud, Box, Google Drive, and AWS Amazon S3 all power eCommerce today by providing different options for users, including sharing files with a link. I won't comment further on this because: first, it's off-topic from the original discussion, and second, there's an important distinction between making suggestions and imposing requirements.
-
See? No links need to be clicked. If something seems unsafe, we’re free—and well within our rights—to avoid it. I think that’s a good thing. Don’t you agree?

It is. This discussion focuses on a specific, uncommon issue with Affinity Designer’s selection tool, yet you’re trying to turn it into a debate over whether file attachments or links are better for the community. What’s unclear about 'it’s perfectly fine'? There’s no obligation to download—just take it easy.
-
It's perfectly fine if you choose not to download it—if you believe that my SSL-registered domain isn’t a reliable indicator of a secure file, that’s your prerogative. That’s the beauty of having the freedom to make your own choices.

Hey, I was trying to edit some gradients on an icon and ran into a weird issue with the export window. Usually, I just select the item, choose the "selection only" option, and it exports just that. But now, it’s only letting me export the whole document or a selection area. I tried quitting the app and reopening it, but that didn’t help. I even changed some settings and ungrouped everything, but nothing worked. Does anyone have any idea what's going on?

Pressure settings on Designer and Photo?
albertkinng replied to albertkinng's topic in iPad Questions
@NathanC Thanks. -
I resolved the issue by creating a new Studio Preset. Before setting up the preset, ensure you adjust the size of each palette—Layers, Assets, and so on—individually. If you only adjust the Layers palette and neglect to fix the Assets palette, it will consistently shrink, even if they are in the same panel. I hope this information proves helpful!

Is there a way to establish default pressure sensitivity settings for the Apple Pencil? It’s frustrating to adjust these settings each time I open a new document. There should be an option to create a new document and start drawing right away, as one would expect!

Artboards in Affinity Photo 2
albertkinng replied to albertkinng's topic in Desktop Questions (macOS and Windows)
I utilize Automator to create smart folders, a practice I've embraced since I began working with Affinity. I set up a multi-board in Designer, upload my images, and save them in a folder labeled 'Photo-Converter.' This process automatically converts the files to Afphoto format and directs them to my 'Photo Projects' folder within Documents. I follow the same steps for exporting in Adobe Illustrator format and more. The beauty of it all is that I can accomplish these tasks simply by saving the file. It's become second nature for me to execute this as a default action. With Apple Automator, I no longer worry about file naming, saving files in the wrong location, or backing them up. All I need to do is save the file. By the end of the day, I have the original file, the converted version, a backup, and the client projects neatly compressed and sent to their servers, along with an email notifying them that their projects are ready. All of this is made possible by the often-overlooked app, Automator. -

@Papouch if you have a Mac, a right click will get rid of backgrounds automatically, works pretty good. -

Sign up for beta testing and try the new AI implementation they are developing. In my opinion, it’s much better than the simple “one click and erase” method. They’re using AI to achieve precise selections with well-defined masked details for optimal results, and it’s completely optional if you prefer not to use AI. *Note that this option is not available for Intel Macs.
