Hello fellow artists It's finally done I've bought an iPad. And yes, I love it. Before I have bought my iPad, i have Drawn and painted on my Windows PC. With the affinity photo or a affinity Designer. I also bought a small shortcut Keyboard designed for Photoshop and Just changed every shortcut inside my Infinity Apps. So they have the same keys like in Photoshop. That really worked well. Now I have wanted to use that shortcut Keyboard for my iPad and have found the settings for the shortcuts inside the iPad App. But the app won't recognize my Keys and won't let me change things. What am I doing wrong? Is this maybe on purpose? Can anybody help me out? Damijan

Hey @walt.farrell, Sure I did. I know there are many tutorials on the applications but with different topics. As I said: I know how the tools and the programs over all are working. I am looking for tutorials specifically for the digital drawing workflow with the affinity suite.

Hello! I'm relatively new to this topic hence why I am looking for courses that can guide me through that, step by step. The problem is, that there aren't really helpful videos or Tutorials for designer or Photo like there are for Photoshop. I bought several courses, (all created, using PS or illustrator) and tried to follow along. But every time I'm failing because something is not working in photo/designer like it does on Photoshop or illustrator in the tutorials. That is just frustrating as you might know. Is there ANY good tutorial for drawing/painting digitally on Photo or designer ? It is important that it's the same software I use, because I have to know if something is just not working because it's functioning differently or if it's just me being stupid. Also there often brushes for newbies like me in one of those courses that sometimes do not work on Photo or designer. Thanks for your help! Damijan Ps. I worked on a few vector design projects like logos and magazines. So I'm not completely lost in the apps!

Ah great, after drawing a bit more the file is corrupted....

I think I found whats causing this. I've had a vector layer instead of a pixel layer inside my rectangle. When drawing in a pixel layer there is no issue here. But drawing in a vector layer something strange happens to the Brush... Can anyone explain this to me?

Hi @stokerg just tested this. Disconnected the Tablet and tried it out. Same issue.

Hello everyone, I have some issues with AD and the brushes in the Pixel persona. Often/mostly I have this lagging problems which make it impossible to work or learn digital drawing with the application. Does anybody got an idea what is the reason for this issue? In the attachment is a short video I've recorded on my lates draft. I have an AMD Vega 54 which is activated for rendering. Open CL is disabled. If you need more information just let me know. Thanks @stokerg! That is something else I wanted to ask. I know the difference between pixel and vector personas but "when" should I actually use the pixel persona and when vector? Both have different tools (besides the obvious pixel and vectoring differences) and brushes.

Hello Guys! I already did a number of Projecs in Affinity Publisher, using Designer and Photo as Tools but also have done some Logos and stuff in designer itfself. But what I always wanted to do is Illustrations using my XP-Pen Tablet that I mainly use as a second Deskop right now, which is kinda embarassing. I also bought a number of brushes (like Frankentoons Neptune, Christis Comix toolbox etc). So I got the Tools, but everytime I want to draw something, I dont even try long because I dont really get how to start and how to use the Brushes right. Digital Drawing is very frustating for me, which why i dont try it very often. But I want to! My Questions are: - What is the easiest Starting-Workflow - Is there Any drawing tutorial/Udemy-Course specificly for affinity products, you would recommend? - which Program do I use???? Photo or Designer? - Any suggestions for my Tool-Layouts and settings? I draw mainly traditionaly on Paper with graphite, which is most of the time really satisfying because I can simply start without wondering "where" to start. Thank you for Helping me! Damijan

Hey Man! I got it right. The Transfermode was the problem. Fixed it! Thank you for your fast respond!

Sure I can do that later. But I think I found at least one of the issues. The fonts inside the moon are on "transfer" and if I switch it to negative multiply or something else it appears in the export preview again! Maybe that's the fix, but I will test some other steps and then get to later. Thanks!

Ps. The pdf file is also unbelievable slow and Adobe gets stuck every time I open it and skip a page.

Hello, I am trying to export my file to pdf format for my client but the export always left out some part of the design on multiple pages oder changes the fonts size or stroke thickness. When exporting into PNG I don't have this issue. How can I fix this? It's really urgent because I have to get this printed very soon. This is how it should look! This is how it looks in the preview and after I exported it.
