Yes, palletised seems to be the default setting π. Deselected that piece of specialised-tech and it's exporting in a couple seconds now. Thanks Notmyfault

sure thing, I tried exporting this one just before sending it...its took over a minute but did actually export (I dont know if a minute is normal export timeframe?) but some others take longer than that and I I eventually abandon the idea and just export to jpg π 36.afdesign

The images were drawn in procreate. Ive imported them as PNGs and placed them as th bottom layer, adding speechtbubbles on top of that in Affinity.

They are 7016 x 9921 px, colour profile (admittedly I know not much about the why's and wherefore of colour settings) but it's set to RGB/8 (must be a default? )

Im putting speech bubbles into a 40 page graphic novel using affinity and trying to export each page to png but so far Ive not managed the patience to wait out a full image export...I did delete a bunch of layers for one page, so there was just a some vector lettering I made on a visible layer (hid all other layers) and that exported to png in a relatively little space of time. But the full images just take too long. Is there a setting Im missing? Im using a Mac mini M1 with the latest iOS and latest Affinity. We are uploading the comic to a site and the dev prefers pngs - Ive resorted to jpgs for now but please advise.

In Figma and Rive there is a way to see an overview of all the fills/strokes attributes (colour/transparency/gradient/etc) for a document or layer (depending on what is selected). This feature makes it easy to simultaneously edit many items by colour in a file or layer selection. Please try to add it as it would save a lot of time being able to edit like this. I have vast amounts of files I work on at a time and having to change colours becomes quite a tedious manual task. This would also apply to complex multilayered pieces that need fill/stroke attribute adjustments made across a number of elements. Thanks

Im having the same issue. Im uploading many files (over 800 currently) to Figma and now need to adjust the colours of every file. Doing it on Figma (or even in Rive) is easy cos when I select the file it gives me an overview of all the strokes and fills and their transparencies (per the document or per layer depending on what I select) So if I want to edit/change all of the same yellows its a simple two click process as they are grouped. But to edit the source files in Affinity is a laborious, manual process. Is there a colour overview feature like this in Affinity that I just don't know how to access? - If not, it would be a very handy feature to add. ?

Hi, seems like a weird question but I can't for the life of me figure out what Im toggling (double click, single click, triple back-flip-land-in-the-splits-with-jazz-hands click??) but when I want to adjust stroke pressure so its tapered the default in the stroke panel is for both sides to get dragged simultaneously. I usually only want to adjust one side (Im weird I like that) but every time I do it I have to do a bunch of magic mental mind-bends to just grab one side and when I do it I never know how I did. I can't seem to find anything about it online or on the forums, so maybe I don't use the right wording. Can someone please help this fool. Thanks.

I want to rotate and export an image from landscape to portrait, why does it not just rotate to the orientation that I set it to when I close the document? Surely that's quite an intuitive feature - procreate does that. Seems bothersome that I have to create a whole new canvas and copy paste everything just to rotate something (like a scene of stars)

I have clarity! As received from Affinity Support : "Hi Dan, Many thanks for these files/further information, this is certainly helpful! I can confirm that the difference between the curves that are and aren't separated when exporting to SVG is the presence of Pressure applied to the Curve within Affinity. Unfortunately the SVG format doesn't support Pressure in the same way that Affinity does, therefore these strokes are 'Expanded' when exporting, creating a Fill layer and a Stroke layer separately in your SVG file. As can be seen in the .afdesign file you've provided, the Curve objects have Pressure applied in the Stroke Studio - If you Reset this Pressure, removing it from the Curve, then when exporting to SVG the singular Fill/Stroke object will be retained. If this Pressure is required, then unfortunately the Fill & Stroke objects have to be Expanded and exported to separate layers in the SVG file. In regards to masked objects, Affinity uses <clipPath> when exporting to SVG, which is a global SVG attribute that other applications also use. Unfortunately there's no way to change this within Affinity when exporting to SVG and will require Figma to add support for <clipPath> objects." If anyone else is experiencing the same issue. 'Pressure' relates to the variable thickness of your stroke/outline

Thanks @NathanC, Please send the upload link and Ill send you the file to have a look at. Re. the upload process: Im using drag-and-drop from my Mac into Figma. This is what Figma support had to say about svgs "Generally speaking, SVG is an open standard, but applications have opinionated interpretations of them. We try to ensure that our interpretation of an SVG aligns with what you might see in a browser like Chrome or Firefox, but Affinity has its own too. We canβt speak to their interpretation, unfortunately, but we do know that exporting from Affinity and importing to Figma can be a challenging experience." I understand the words and concepts but not the machinations of that statement. π Id imagine that everyone would like to align interpretations so that files don't react differently in different applications. So my two issues are 1: How to maintain the composition of my strokes and fills on export from affinity. 2: how to upload a mask layer that won't be displaced in the frame when I place it in Figma. (if that's something that can be fixed/adjusted on this side of the export)

Im trying to figure out the best export settings for SVG files from either iPad or Desktop (iOs) version of Affinity for files to be placed into Figma. (Figma support said that affinity interprets SVG differently to how they do, but can't offer assistance on the 'Export from Affinity' side of the issue) Currently in all my exported files Ive found that Masks and effects layers don't translate (elements in files that have these treatments get shifted to the top left of the frame on placing them in Figma - regardless of 'set view box' setting) but also I found that in all my exported files, elements that start out as a simple stroke with a fill become separated - so the outline gets expanded to a separate more complex entity with its own outline-and-stroke and the fill is moved to a separate layer with its own outline-and-stroke. What am I missing? Ive tried exhaustively the various settings in export but I also don't understand technically what all the settings mean, so am surely missing some key piece of intel. Please can someone help/explain. Attached a sequence of screenshots of the current export settings Im using - which also illustrate how an element get moved to the top left of the view box on landing in Figma (final image). (having tried both iPad and desktop export) Ideally I would like to maintain the simple stroke and fill that I used to create the files in Affinity if that is possible....?
