Couldn't agree more, pagespeed has been recommending it for a long while now.

I love irfanview. I mostly use it as an image viewer though. Glad to hear that there's actually other people out there who love it as well, I don't think I actually know any people who use it.

Considering that reading webp files already works, maybe using a little bit of inspiration from GIMP source code which does have this feature, I can't imagine this taking too long to implement. https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gimp I can imagine this feature would save a lot of time to a lot of people. Back to using GIMP for now...

For sure! Finding the solution elsewhere is inevitable in a situation like this. But I believe that letting the developers know that a feature is wanted by people will hopefully motivate them to get that feature done sooner.

So the devs mentioned about implementing exporting webp in 2015, but still no signs of it. How long can it take? Will it happen in our lifetime?
