  1. OmniGraffle is Visio like and just as expensive and even more if you want their Visio import features. I've tried most of the ones that have been listed in various forums but was never quite satisfied with them. The idea here is to show that there would be an interest for an Affinity diagraming app especially if the same design goals from their other apps are applied. When I originally post the idea in 2015, I was really amazed at all the responses.
  2. I posted a similar request in 2015. Diagramming App Things get confusing when CAD and Visio are used in the same sentence. By definition, CAD (computer-aided design) software is used by architects, engineers, drafters, artists, and others to create precision drawings or technical illustrations. CAD software can be used to create two-dimensional (2-D) drawings or three-dimensional (3-D) models. Whereas Visio is a drawing and diagramming software that includes a variety of pre-drawn shapes and picture elements that can be dragged and dropped onto a blank page or infinite canvas. For me, if Affinity were to design a diagramming software similar (or better) to Visio, I would be the first in line to purchase it. In 2015, Affinity were very busy developing iOS and Windows version of Designer and Photo in addition to Publisher (replacement for PagePlus). Now that these are in place, it would be nice to know if something like Affinity Diagram is in the works or being considered.
  3. WOW! I leave for a few hours and come back to all this feedback. Whether it is called Diagram or CAD, as long as it comes with pre-made stencils à la Visio and has the feature of creating custom stencils, I'm in. As long too that it is one edition as with the other Affinity apps.
  4. BTW. I know that Visio is much more expensive but I was a student then and was able to get the academic version. At least with the Standard version of Visio stencil creation is the same as the Pro version.
  5. Thanks for the reply and suggestion. Just wanted to know because there are not too many Mac options out there that really compete with Omnigraffle. Unfortunately I have checked out Omnigraffle and in order to build my own stencils with with the option to rename the stencil objects, I would have to add an extra $100 for the Pro version which I find for the little extras is not worth it. Plus I do not like in-app purchases.
  6. I know that Affinity Publisher is the next application that will be released. 3 years ago I moved from Windows to Mac and I was able to find 90 % of equivalent apps to replace my Windows programs. There is one that I wasn't able to find a descent replacement for and that is Visio. The Omnigroup have one but it lacks the template simplicity of Visio. Plus to get the Pro version one must first purchase the app on the App Store then upgrade to the Pro version via the Standard version. I would like to know if this is an app (Affinity Diagram) that would be of interest for you and the rest of the users out there.
