  1. Thanks for your response @EmT I'm using the latest version of Affinity Designer, OS version is macOS Monterey, 12.0.1, MacBook Air M1, 16MB memory. The problem only occurs on this file and on one particular artboard. I was previously able to successfully export to PDF so I made a copy of the artboard and started deleting layers and found one that had a dotted path that appeared to be the offending party. Now things work fine but I seem to recall I had a similar problem with a dotted path causing a problem with exporting a while back. Thanks for responding, @EmT, I'll create a new thread and reference this one if I experience the problem again.
  2. Hello, I'm trying to export an artboard that's around 7MB in size and am receiving the "An error occurred while exporting to..." error message when trying to export to PDF. I've googled a bit and saw that some other people were having a similar problem. My only way to resolve this is to choose the "rasterise everything" option which makes things look undesirable. I've tried changing the preset to other PDF types but this doesn't work--I only see the text "Calculating..." before trying to export. I don't receive any error messages related to missing fonts at startup and I've tried exporting both on an iPad and new MacBook Air. I'm quite desperate for help as I have hundreds of hours in to my project. Is there any kind of logging that I could view to try to resolve this?
  3. Hello all, I've been trying for the past few hours to snap a curve to a grid using 1.10.19 of Designer on iPad. I'm fully aware of the separate snapping menu for the pen tool as well as the snapping menu but for the life of me I can't get a node to snap to where a horizontal and vertical lines of the grid meet. In the snapping menu I have snapping enabled and am not forcing pixel alignment. Snap to grid is turned on and I've tried both high and low levels of tolerance. I'm not trying to snap the node to other things as noted in this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hntb-PMGUEA and I've read these threads: https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/149534-asking-for-tips-about-snapping-with-curve-nodes-in-designer/&tab=comments#comment-835695 or https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/62713-cannot-snap-curve-nodes-to-grid-in-designer/&tab=comments#comment-325078 https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/102450-tutorial-for-node-functions/&tab=comments#comment-549935 I just need a node to snap to where horizontal and vertical lines of the grid intersect!. Could someone please tell me how to do this?
  4. Hello, I'd like to create a file that I will eventually save as a .pdf that I will both print as a poster (24inches x 36inches or about 60cm x 91cm) as well as save to view on my phone. The image will be a transit map and will contain about 15 distinct colors. My question is: which settings should I use before creating the image? Should it be in CMYK format? Does it need to have a "bleed" section around the border? If yes, how large should this be? Are there any other things I need to consider before setting up the file? Thanks in advance.
