Hello Ive got a Microsoft surface studio laptop running windows 11 and every time I close my laptop or the screen falls asleep from inactivity my program will close and ill have to reopen Affinity Designer after unlocking my laptop. Luckily it seems to be able to recover my progress even if I hadn't saved beforehand but this is still troubling to me.

Hey Lee thank you for your interest in helping me! I actually just ended up deleting the file and created a new one which im not having any of the same issues on so maybe it was just a weird glitch on that one.

Also I am using Windows 11 so maybe Affinity is not optimized for that yet which is causing some bugs

Yeah that is strange I thought that was normal but now that youve pointed it out it doesnt do that in new files that I create so maybe thats part of the issue. In my original file if I create a new layer it will be displayed as "Layer2 (Layer)" but after trying to draw a new layer is created underneath it called "(Pixel)" Ive tried drawing on every layer available and rasterized the image with still no success haha If this is just going to be an issue with my current file which I was only practicing on then its not a huge problem as I will just create a new one and start over

Alright I have turned off hardware acceleration and done an app reset. My opacity is set to 100 and as far as I can tell I dont have any mask layers haha I created a new document to show it works fine to draw over those images in pixel persona but when I load up the saved file I was originally working on I am unable to so maybe there is just something wrong with that file. I am using a microsoft surface laptop studio and a pen to draw on the screen but the issue persists when using the mouse. I also noticed another problem at the end of this video attached you can see that im unable to change the stroke size on both my original and new document when in Pixel persona. 20220102141329.mp4

Hello Ive just gotten Affinity Designer and am having a really hard time with it. I seem to be encountering a lot of bugs and Im not sure if this is from me using the program incorrectly or if they truly are bugs. Right now I am having a problem where I am unable to draw in pixel mode. As youll see I am unable to do any drawing or erasing while in Pixel Persona but when I switch to Vector Persona I am able to draw. This is only the case with the current document im working on and if I create a new one and go into Pixel Persona I am able to draw perfectly fine 20211227211128.mp4

Thank you Carl I found the answer within that thread by increasing my retina rendering to the highest quality

After uploading this image the difference between the lines is less noticeable as the quality has been reduced but it is quite noticeable when viewed in program

Hello! I am having issues with the resolution of my lines as they are being drawn while in the Designer Persona. As you can see in the screenshot the line on the right was just recently drawn and is pixelated around the edges while the lines on the left are crisp and smooth. Once I complete the line and lift my pen or if I continue drawing for some time the line will undergo some sort of processing which then leaves it looking normal. I have this issue with both the pencil tool and the vector brush tool but when I switch to Pixel persona I dont have this issue and the paintbrush tool leaves my lines looking fully rendered immediately as theyre being drawn in real time. I tried to reach out to some creators on Youtube and observed how their lines look and it seems to be only a feature im observing. Could it possibly be the hardware on my laptop?
