  1. Affinity photo (2.2.0) If I try to resize document just on X pixels, and do it with default positioning (move image to the top left) it works. If I change this default positioning, it just loses the image and the whole image is empty. If I then just move the big brush without painting, picture starts coming back. Something wrong in refreshing ?
  2. I'm AF user and serif user for a long time. I wanted to give a go to publisher in order to make a decision about purchasing whole bundle or just upgrade the two. It's no brainer regarding the price etc. but just want to make decision of using it or not. Anyway the MSIX doesn't work. I made a decision not to use MS app thing and have none. Reason is simple. MS uses it's privileged position to install software without asking me. Updates are quite bad as is with Cortana and 3 browsers which I never use. I thought we solve this issue but obviously not. So now this new format. Downloaded the MSIX thing and nothing happens. Do I really need to update MS team which software I want use on my machine ? So strong vote NO to MSIX format, and if there is no exe, or msi format which I can install, I probably will not upgrade to v2. I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels this way. Regards Aleksandar
  3. Save Preset with name, then it's shows here, just click on it to use it.
  4. That whole thread just proves my point. Pros need different file formats and they will turn away and find someone who supports it. I'm really a long time user of serif and this is why I'm trying to help with advice.
  5. No, actually not, it just means they support different version of SVG. The importance of this is clear, since the whole media entertainment industry is developing USD file format for exactly this reason to be able to interchange files between different applications. Not aware who is the main market for affinity, but if they want more professionals to switch, the file formats are game changer. As simple as that. If you are long enough in the industry, that's obvious knowledge. That is why some of those are still preserving the monopoly. Even without using ai file format, there should be the way to support different applications, with only different forms of SVG and EPS file formats for example, but few other formats wouldn't be bad either.
  6. If you check your post, you assumed the same. I'm doing this for more then 30 years as well, including coding from time to time. So can you really claim that none of your clients asked you to send them cdr file or ai file ? Really ? If not, then it's obviously useful to be able to provide those. Again, inkscape supports ai in a specific way: https://wiki.inkscape.org/wiki/index.php/Current_PDF_Support#Current_Adobe_Illustrator_support SVG file format as well has versions, let alone discussion about units and how this works, specially when it's crucial to preserve the world scale. So yes, there is a lot there to consider and by having presets installed with the package would be extremely valuable asset and to have more options with various svg format versions. At least you admit that would be valuable to be able to import latest ai format, considering that all silly designers will ever only use that format to send, being ignorant that whole world only uses AI for vector graphics. So why are your needs more important then other users ? I hope you understand now why this is important issue.
  7. You didn't understand what I wrote, because you didn't read carefully. Why you assume I don't understand the problem ? I understand the problem very well. That is exactly why I'm talking about this. I used inkscape and xara. Xara can export ai file format without problem. That means it's possible, isn't it. I'm not advocating that you need to export latest version of adobe illustrator, which is clearly not possible. But there are different versions and some of them are known (older versions). DXF is not locked format, but it's not there either. XNconvert converts raster files, not vector. You can use plugin for viewing (inside XnView), but that's all. Ignore all this, at least this is what I also mentioned. If they don't want to put resources into writing more file formats, there should be more options for SVG for example. That would be helpfull in start. Secondly, documenting those users and then including the presets for various formats would be great help. Instead of me browsing the internet for days and all of us spending time testing, either document or add the presets which will make this simple and user friendly. Make a page of documentation about it, if none of the above. You know nothing about working with clients, if you ask me to explain why is exporting in different formats useful feature. You are just hobbyist or you don't have clients, which is great and good for you, but don't pretend you understand the issue then.
  8. I actually used maya to test this and it's crashing the application. So for maya it's obviously not working. I've tested Blender and it works fine. Well done for Blender guys. Also I raised the same question with the maya support, but at least they are documenting what they support on import. DXF format is also an option and there is no DXF support either. It's really not my fault that AI is industry standard, nor that some people used for example Corel draw. Having well tested exported presets would be really great thing to have and would win more professionals. What's wrong about that ?
  9. What I wrote is what I asked. Not what you are claiming I asked. This kind of attitude is just wrong and ignoring everything I wrote. I don't care what format is as long as it's tested and gives the result. Presets would be very useful.
  10. It is crucial to make a good pipeline. The quality of the application is there ! Now we need good quality exporters, with presets which are obvious. So make preset to export to Corel Draw, AIllustrator, Xara, etc. Why is that important ? First that is number one thing for professionals to switch to your package. Import would be good too, but export is crucial ! Also I would like to export to maya, blender, etc. With this options working, that would be the most important selling point !
  11. You've done great job on the software. The export features should take TOP PRIORITY ! It's not important how some software is great if it can't talk to other software and even more important Clients ! It's crucial to get really a lot of options and export good quality SVG and EPS, copy paste to illustrator, etc. Why is this important ? Because this will allow us to ditch AI for good. Simple. The quality of application is there, just please make a really good exporters, to seal the deal.
