I'm running into a similar issue as noted by Qosfc1919. I'm using the same setup of two rectangles being connected in a "V" formation. The behavior seems to change from attempt to attempt. I always drag to select the two middle nodes. 1) only the top middle node will add a curve 2) only the bottom middle node will add a curve 3) Two middle nodes and upper right node (even though NOT selected) adds a curve
