I am using Affinity Photo. I can understand how to fill a complete shape with ( a solid at least. And I see that I can export a file with multiple layers as a jpg file and then work on that. Do I have designate how the shape is to be filled before I start or can I come back afterward and try out different ways of filling. It seems like the same tools that I can use on a pixel layer are not available for a curve layer.

I made a series to curved shapes of increasing size that I would like to flatten into a layer so I can fill the spaces with different colors/gradients. I see lots of advice on converting raster to vector but not the other way around. Can Should I convert the curves to selections? I feel really lost here.
