Hi @DWright, I solved it. I found that pressing the "B" key to launch the brush to modify the layer, if you press it more than once it cycles through 4 personas. Each persona alters the contextual tool bar for the brush, one of them giving you a square brush. One of the personas works fine. Thank you for replying and I'm sorry to waste your time. Stay well and stay safe in these troubled times.

And now when you select the brush icon you get cross hairs instead of the brush "circle"

Photo was working fine . But brush stopped working on all adjustments. The brush appears when the adjustment layers is inverted and you are trying to apply an adjustment, but it will not paint on the image.
