  1. This is gonna be an obnoxiously easy answer hopefully…But for the life of me I cant figure out how to back out of a child/added/embedded doc to return to the parent doc after I’ve double-clicked on it to edit the child. In affinity designer v1 on ipad. The tutorials I’ve found shows tabs open to switch between child and parent docs,  in the computer version of affinity , but I’m on Ipad and I don’t see any tabs. My layers only show whats inside the child doc and no way to click back to the rest of them. I’ve tried closing my app to reopen and only succeeded in corrupting the files. What I’m working on now has days of work into it and i’m afraid of losing the main file.

Welcome to the Serif Affinity Forums, @INKmagine. :)

The effect that you describe will occur if the text is from another source. I can’t imagine why it would happen if you’re simply typing new text, but either way you can work around the problem by selecting a piece of text which doesn’t have the unwanted background colour, copying it and then using the ‘Paste Style’ command to correct the formatting of the affected text object.

Yeah that works if I have untainted text to copy. I’ve had issues with even the first text going in too though. It’s weird.

  3. Hi,

I am using the art text box in Affinity photo, and every now and then it will randomly fill in the background of the text box. Even if I delete the whole layer and make a new text box, it will add in the backfill. I have no idea what is triggering it or how to turn it off. The only way I’ve found around it yet is to start a new file all together, which, PAIN. I’ve also tried making sure my secondary color is blank.

(See grey behind INKMAGINE in image below.) I feel like this is going to be a simple on/off something but i dunno what.
