  1. I want to create an array of shapes but want them to union them to utilize common lines for cutting. See attached picture. I have a 6 columns and 3 rows of rounded squares. These are shapes. How do I save space by overlapping the common lines without duplicating the cut line? Is there a way to use a Boolean function to do this in Affinity Designer (Windows)?
  2. I am using Affinity Designer version 1.10.1. on a PC. I am not creating a pattern. I am simply trying to fill my document with purchased seamless patterns. I have watched all the YouTube videos and and looked at all the forums and it appears that this is not unique to Affinity Designer. However, I need a solution that works. I have tried looking at the transform window to make sure the pattern does not have a fraction. I have tried viewing the layout in "Pixel view". I have tried rastering and trimming. I have tried filling with the pattern. I have checked my snapping elements in the snapping manager, I have tried nudging and all do not provide a solution to this white line or "gap" between the pattern layers. However, after spending way too long trying to figure this out, I have seen where some seamless patterns do not produce this gap with my environment and others do. So now I'm wondering if it is the actual pattern that could be flawed.
  3. Why am I getting a thin white line between my seamless pattern tiles. I am placing a seamless pattern .jpg. I don't want to stretch the pattern size so I duplicate the pattern and then snap together but when I do there is a thine white line between the patterns. If I nudge the second layer up it simply falls behind the first layer of the pattern and I still have the white line. This should be fairly simple. What am I doing wrong?
  4. I am having trouble opening PDF or SVG from other designers using other design software. If they are using a unit of measure of mm. If I just open their file that they supply, usually an SVG or PDF, it opens in Affinity Designer as points or pixels. If I then go to change the unit of measure in the document setup from points to mm or inches, the conversion is in correct and the dimensions are incorrect as the original designer had specified. How do I specify the default unit of measure before opening the file? And more so, how do I change the unit of measure to a different unit without making the measurements inaccurate?
  5. Will Affinity Designer desktop ever have bitmap trace and offset functionality?
