This was indeed the issue, the real problem being that there isn't an easy/obvious way to close curves when drawing with the pencil tool - it's be nice if as you neared your originating point it was highlighted so you could close the curve... instead of always ending up with something slightly off so you have to go back with node tool to correct everything.
  2. Hi all, I'm new to the program and hope i'm missing something simple. I'm trying to apply raster paint to a vector shape, as demonstrated at the end of the video here: https://affinity.serif.com/en-us/tutorials/designer/desktop/video/338830412/ I created several shapes (curves) in vector persona. Then I switched to pixel persona and selected paint brush tool. I select a (curve) in my layers panel, but when I start painting, the assistant creates a new raster layer *outside* the selected vector, rather than automatically clipping to the selected vector as in the demo. I could clip the painted part to the vector after, but the ease of *not* having to do is part of my reason for trying this program. What am I missing? Thanks
