  1. Very kind, but I am afriad, this one is definately on me, no mistake. You are correct though it is a crowded panel. While we are at it, WHY is the type leading so far from the Type size box??? That I din't get at all. Steve
  2. Thank you Bryce, I feel like such an idiot. I still don't know how it happened, I was trying to select an item with the direct selection tool on a lower layer using the command key at the same time as selecting and before I knew wht was happening the pasteboard had moved around the current axis selction. I will have to whatch that one it is annoying. Thanks again, Steve Warren
  3. Working away and all of a sudden my pasteboard moved to an angle off level, WHY, HOW ????????? Please advise ASAP as I am sitting with client looking like a complete FOOL. Steve Warren - Australia'
  4. Hi all, Does Designer have any stock stroke which have themes, i.e. Footprints, fancy icons arrows etc. We are doing some maps and need to indicate walking path and the like and the client wants foot prints. Kind regards, Steve Warren
  5. Does anyone know if Designer can produce the same effect as in Illustrator of Text Envelope Warp. Or if it is called something different in Designer. We need this. Kind regards, Steve Warren - Australia
  6. Good morning Gary, Correct, I had stoked the circle with a Brush and then raserised that layer in the hope I could create outlines and then Knockout/erase the background. I didn't want it as a raster, I wanted it as a vector so I could easily change the colour and more impportantly get a cleaner edge finish, rasters no mate how high are not as clean and sharp or as editable. Thank you for yuor time. Kind regards, Steve Warren - Australia
  7. Yes that is what I meant. Thank you I did find that erase option I am still getting use to the different naming from Adobe where it is refered to as Knockout. Also I want to convert this to outlines so it is cleaner and not a rasterfile. Any clues how to achieve this?
  8. Good afternoon all, Can anyone point me in the direction where I can set a layer to knockout the layer below. I am trying to create a circle with a painted edge. I have a circle on a layer and a stroke on a higher layer with the desired brush stroke. I set it to white and just sits there as white. I want it gone and just leave the coloured layed below. Many thanks in advance. Kind regards, Steve Warren Australia. Colour Circle.tiff
  9. Can anyone tell me how to update all linked files in a document without having to do each one individully?? with Linked files prefered as the default setting (don't like that) there must be a simple way to relink files from a common folder as with Indesign. Many thanks.
  10. How do I set preferences for Designer as the stand preferences that will remain when ever i open the program. I have looked at the preferences panel and can't find any where I can set the measurements to metric as a standard for measure and Points for text and spacing/kerning. In Adobe, and it makes me shiver using the name, I can acces preferences before opening a document and set the program preferences to remain from there. Any ideas would be helpful. Also - we run a Mimaki CJV30 - 130 and need a plugin for Rasterlink and Finecut so we can run the output to the Mimaki from Designer. Is there a plugin from Affinity? I have called Mimaki, however I think that represenations from Serif would carry a lot more weight. Kind regrds, Steve Warren - Australia
  11. Good morning all, Tried all of the suggestions and none worked as I would expect. You need to be able to effect change to a single line in a cell, should be simple, not this hard. Indesign handles these issues much better. Having said that I would be happy if I am missing something. Kind regards Steve Warren.
  12. Hi Palatino, I don’t have any trouble creating those simple tables, it is when you need to make them more complex, I.e. removing line and boxes to alter the shape or content areas, plus varying line thickness and length. Have a look at the drivers log image created in Indesign tables in my first post. Thanks for the reply. Kind regards, Steve Warren - Australia
  13. Thank FD I’ll let you know how I go, so many years using Indesign warps the brain a little and I need to forget and relearn, fast. Still, I love a challenge. Kind regards, Steve Warren - Australia
