Question for anyone with both the Mac and iPad versions of Photo. Has anyone every noticed a difference in the processing of an HDR image between the platforms?
I’ve been using the iPad version for a little while and really wanted to try the Mac version to see if it sped up my productivity. I have an HDR merge that I always use as a comparison and thought I’d try it on both systems.
Being that the interfaces are so similar, I dialed in the same tone map for both merges and had different results. The iPad had lost a lot of the detail and the Mac was much brighter. I can dial them into about the same but; being an engineer, I had expected that if I perform the exact same steps, in the same order; the results should be identical. The file sizes were also 4MB different (50MB vs 54MB) but they were both using the same source files.
Anyone have any tips?
