  1. Many thanks. The rectangular mask probably the easiest and will retain image data best. I tried other workarounds -- but I also found that after cropping an image, copying and pasting or resizing eliminates the crop. Why? How do you make a crop permanent so that further modifications adjustments don't reset the crop?
  2. I've inset and centred an image on a white canvass background, with the intent of outputting the entire canvass and having the image framed with white borders all around. I want though to crop the actual image a bit -- but when I select it and click on the crop tool, it wants to crop the canvass instead(!). How do I crop an image on a non-transparent background/canvas?
  3. Newbie issue. I had actually done a rotate in View and tried undoing instead of just going back up and rotating the other way. In my haste, I assumed View here meant page orientation, not screen orientation. Likely my Pagemaker/QuarkXPress muscle memory kicking in . . . Running Mojave on a 2018 MPB 13 inch; Publisher 1.8.3 The help is much appreciated, but I'll slow down now and better learn the interface.
  4. Aye, there's the rub. It wasn't a crash but also I wasn't prompted to save. And actually, the whole thing was weird -- I had done a rotate on a page and tried to Undo, which didn't work. After several attempts ad Undo, I simply closed the document (not the program) and was NOT prompted to save. When I re-opened the document, the entire morning's edits were gonzo.
  5. Terrific -- very simple. I had tried it using the background fill option the colour wheel panel above but even at 100 % opacity the fill was wan at best (see attached image). Indeed, having been focused on that route, I didn't even see the background option in the Character panel itself. I bet more than a few people will make this oversight -- especially when highlighting is long-established in other programs as a menu/contextual menu item. Maybe an item for your suggestion box. Thanks!
  6. Helpful. I assume that what is recoverable in the 300 seconds interval (that I have as a current setting) is accessible upon relaunch via the Undo command? Or is it via the Open Recent command? Thanks,
  7. Looked everywhere; can't find an Auto Save setting -- naturally, having just lost a version of a document after I Quit and then realized that latest version was not physically saved and is now totally gone. Or?
  8. No, I'm talking about highlighting, not text colour. As if one was using a highlighter pen (commonly yellow) to colour the paper in behind the text, making it easy for a reader to see that form of emphasis. After checking online, the only work-around seems to be a convoluted layer manipulation sequence that would be arcane at best.
  9. Guys! You really need to make text highlighting a right-click sub-menu option that calls up the colour wheel for immediate colour highlighting sampling and application. Kudos and many thanks for Adobe busting with this terrific set of affordable yet robust apps.
