Try to use winetricks as described you should of course install first wineteicks, let me know if you can get it working, I'm stuck at the installation asking me for .net installation and then failing ./winetricks win81 -q

Hello, AF is very new to me, however the thing I found that is missing for me the most is my ability to dynamically convert a layer to a smart object (or embedded placement as you call it) from the layers list. The reason I need it badly is that I need to have duplicates of the same instance and when I update one I need it to update every other instance, for example after I retouch a layer of a product image/render sometimes I need to have another version of the same base layer but with a different color. Usually the client sends feedback and the i need to update everything so with instances it is very easy. sometimes i do not know what will need to be an instance and what not so this is why i need it with a simple right click. I don't mind it will be a just an instance/symbol that isn't an external file, I just need the ability to edit it once and for it to take action globally on all the instance. I know that even today I can do it by using "place" but it is not very comfortable to isolate the layers in a different file and then re-import it... In my opinion it should be as easy as marking the layers I want and right click -> make symbol/instance/whatever Hope I was clear, if not I can product a video mockup Thanks

For some reason after all your steps, no matter what i do i get to "install .net" inside affinity installer and then it cannot install (as shown in the pictures bellow) Also when I try to install DXVK i get these errors: Could not find Wine Gecko.
