I'm currently trying out Affinity Photo for Mac, being as how my ancient CS4 version of Photoshop will no longer be supported under Catalina, and I'm not going to migrate to the new Adobe subscription model, either.
My main use for Photoshop is resizing and color/exposure correcting images that will be published on the web. I have three feature requests that would help streamline this process in Affinity Photo.
The first is to make the default Units setting persistent throughout the app (for example in Document->Resize Document) between invocations, either by remembering the last setting or by setting it in a preference pane somewhere. I prefer to work in inches, and end up having to reset from points each time I resize a document.
The second request is for a Photoshop like feature (found under Image->Adjustments->Variations) that displayed twelve thumbnails of the image in one window. Three of them showed the current pick with a lighter and a darker version, seven of them showed the current pick with the remainder thumbnails showing increases in the Green, Yellow, Cyan, Red, Blue, and Magenta. Clicking on any of the alternate thumbnails applied the exposure or color correction to the current pick, and the alternate thumbnails were updated to show the next step up in color/exposure correction. There was a slider for adjusting the amount of change, and radio buttons to apply it to only Shadows, Midtones, Highlights, or Saturation. Two thumbnails at the top showed the current pick and the original image. I used this filter most often to correct white balance, but it also was a quick, visual way to experiment with more extreme color effects.
The final request is to be able to display different Views in different application windows so that direct side-by-side visual comparisons can be made. Maybe Affinity Photo already does this, but I haven't stumbled across how to do it yet.
Overall, though, I'm enjoying the Affinity Photo experience, especially the well organized and accessible tutorials which allowed me to come up to speed on my usual workflow in only an hour or so.
