  1. Hi, I've recently got into photo editing for something to do during this lock down and stumbled onto Affinity Photo. Being as I don't want to essentually 'rent' photoshop I thought I would give it a crack, I am very happy with it! Unfortunately it seems to be a little hardware intensive! Im running an i7-7700k 4 core system with 32 gig of ram and an Nvidia 1080 graphics card, but its really stuggling with what I am asking it to do. As soon as a I have more than 4 or 5 layers, everything slows right down. For example: - Painting is too laggy to actually use - Blur function is unusable - Live filters aren't live anymore and so on and so on. I understand I am probrably asking a lot of it, but I didn't have any other issues on other layer based editing software so I just want to know is this normal? My CPU gets pushed to 100% which it doesnt do on high end games. I have tried changing the render to 'WARP', turned off dither gradients and changed the retina rendering to fastest however nothing is having an effect. Can someone help please? Thanks in advance
