I didn't read any expectation of immediate resolution in his request? I'm pretty sure he just made a feature suggestion, which multiple people have since also requested. I understand, and I think like others understand that since this is not a bug, and rather a feature to be implemented, it might take some time.

Thanks, I pretty sure we all understand that and appreciate the help. But my understanding is that this forum in particular is for feature requests. Pointing people to the manual doesn't negate the validity of the feature request (though it does help people in the meantime that are missing the requested feature - as I said, thanks). Also I don't believe anybody is expecting any immediate action from Serif, but simply being dismissive of reasonable feature requests isn't really helpful, even if Serif is yet to take action.

Plenty of users don't read (and arguably shouldn't have to read) manuals for what should be intuitive operations in common tasks. Which is my point. What the users have come to suggest here is a very easy way to make the program more intuitive, something which is already common to many other imaging programs across a broad range of platforms. Surely anything that makes a program more intuitive - i.e. not require reading of the manual for a common task - is an idea worth implementing and something that works towards improving the overall user experience?

I would argue it is more than cosmetic - I'd call it a user interface enhancement. For the new user, this feature is effectively hidden. There is nothing in context to indicate that you can type a percentage in the fields. You would either need to guess it is possible based on experience using this feature in another similar program with this ability, or take a trip to the help documentation or to the support forums. I would consider myself more of an experienced user and I had to look up how to do something that is immediately obvious in every other photo imaging program I have used. Good luck to those less technically inclined (and many of the professional photographers I know fall into this category). There are definitely times when breaking established paradigms are necessary for innovation, but I would argue this isn't one of them. To all those seemily arguing against having a percentage option in the drop down menu, what is wrong with having both options?

Hello. I believe this to be a bug. Currently when trying to set an OpenColorIO config on macOS, Affinity Photo requires write permission to the config file. However it should only need read permission. Are you using the latest release version? Yes. 1.8.3 Can you reproduce it? Yes. See below. Does it happen for a new document? Config is now set As far as I am aware, Affinity Photo should not require write permissions to the config.ocio file. It should only require read permssions as it should not need to modify this file. @James Ritson Ok, so I did some more testing and it seems that Affinity Photo needs write permissions for config.ocio which seems like a bug to me. Surely it shouldn't need write permission for this file?

Btw, this location is the location that the fnord OpenColorIO plugins look for the configs (which is mainly why we have them here).

Hi @James Ritson. So it is a permissions issue it seems. Changed the group to staff and it works now (either in Application Support or Users/Shared)

Hey @James Ritson - thanks for the suggestion! I copied the OpenColorIO configs to another directory in the User directory and it worked fine. Strange though, because the fnord OpenColorIO plugins for Photoshop and After Effects can read from this location fine. Is there a system-wide location that should work? Maybe Users/Shared? I ask because we try to distribute software automatically to our workstations, and per user is always more of a pain.

+1 for a percentage option in the drop down menu. Having the ability to type in a percentage anywhere is great for power users, but percentage in the list of drop down options seems more intutive for the general user.

Hello. We are testing Affinity Photo for use in an ACES workflow, and have looked at the video tutorials on OpenColorIO setup. However we have immediately run into an issue. 1. Go to Preferences --> Colour 2. Set OpenColorIO Configuration File - in our case /Library/Application Support/OpenColorIO/aces_1.2/config.ocio (downloaded from https://github.com/imageworks/OpenColorIO-Configs ) 3. Infinity Photo asks to restart the application 4. Go to Preferences --> Colour 5. No OpenColorIO Configuration file is set anymore. It has forgotten what was just set Are we doing something wrong?
